*grrr*

A friend of my mom's is having a party in 2 weeks and I sent her the 2 recipes I'm doing this month and she doesn't want either. So annoying!

Now I have to find some other to offer her that I'm comfortable with and that have stoneware in them!

For other people, I'd just say those are the options, but she's a former consultant and she's sort of a *you know what* sometimes.

*sigh*

If she's a former consultant, she should understand if you tell her that those are the recipes you're comfortable doing in front of a crowd. Sorry that happened to you.

I had something similiar happen. I offer two recipes to pick from....my host doesn't want either but wants the recipe that I demoed for her daughters show. I don't mind doing it again but I think it will be boring for the guests. Most of her guests were at her daughters show.

I did a show last April where we had the Thai Chicken Stir-Fry Salad. A girl at the show booked a show of her own for 2 weeks later. When I have her her menu selections, she chose the Thai Chicken Stir-Fry Salad! At her show she ooed and aahhed at how good it was and asked me what I had made at the show she just attended (several were also at the previous show). I told her that I had made the same thing and wondered why she wanted it. She said that she didn't even remember what I had prepared. The other guests didn't remember either.

The bottom line is that no one really cares as much about our shows as we do... so don't worry about repeating recipes. I mean, really... do you remember what you had for dinner last Thursday night (not last night... a week ago?) No one remembers. No biggie.

If I end up doing the same recipe for a group of people, I try to use different tools for it or do some kind of twist. What recipe does she want?

That's what I do too. The twist I usually do is pick someone or a couple of people and have them do the demo - I say something like you all saw me put this together last time so you know how it's done - it's your turn to practice...

Ugh... well, did she say why she didn't want them or give you an idea of what she's looking for? Maybe you can work with what she's expecting and make it work for your show. I know... not as easy as her just picking one of your recipes but may help..

I wasn't sure what I was going to do and it was a host's suggestion that got me thinking and had me settle on the smashed potato soup in the DCB... I hadn't though of how to incorporate stones and soup but thanks to folks here, figured it out. So perhaps she's got something in mind that you can just do with stones?

I emailed her to see if we can chat or get together this weekend to find soemthing that I'm comfortable making and that showcases the stones. We'll see what happens I guess.

Jan RecipeSo what recipes are/were you offering for January? I have no clue what to do....Thanks....

I am doing the 30 min chicken as one of the choices. i was going to do the 12 min cake, but that's two microwave dishes. maybe i will do the biscuits in the exec saute pan, thats always a hit too.

I'm doing the Microwave Turkey Chili in the Deep Covered Baker for at least two shows. I'm doing the Mini Pesto Pizzas for a Bites and Bevs show. She didn't think her friends would like brie. I have two brunch shows and will probably do the omelet roll. Hoping to do the brie for the other Bites and Bevs show.
I am also doing a show for a past consultant. She wanted me to make the chicken broccoli braid and the warm nutty caramel brownies while she makes the monkey bread in the fluted pan. AND she is doing the pork in the micro with my DCB. I told her the low down on how it would be hard to bake that much stuff. I also told her I don't have time to get those two recipes ready before the show. If she wanted to completely prepare the filling for the braid except for the garlic and Dill Mix, I would put it together and get it into the oven right at the beginning of the demo. She decided not to make the monkey bread. I wonder if she used to make this much stuff at her shows. No wonder she's a former consultant! I really think she is just very excited about having the show and wants to do it up big. Hopefully she will have a great turn out.

it's all goodI'm offering the 20 Min Ribs and the Jerk Chicken Nachos.

She picked the Quick Cherry Cobbler from the old Stoneware Sensations (the one in the outlet - pg 87), so that works fine too - WHEW!

I totally forgot I had this cookbook until she mentioned it! Now I can show off a recipe from it and entice people to order 3 Stoneware to get it free!

Heck, if she is a past consultant then have her tell you what she wants instead of playing games for goodness sake!

Is this something you are offering...am I missing a promotion?

Guests get 20% off Stoneware... I think it's just a different way of framing the discount. Rather than a rather vague "percent off," it's a buy THESE, get THIS sort of explanation... many people might GET it better than a flat % off.

She is probably offering the cookbook from the outlet to any guest that purchases at least 3 pieces of stoneware; upping her sales.

Right - I bought a few of the cookbooks from the outlet and am offering them as my own incentive to those who buy 3 or more pieces of SW

sorry for the confusion
