SUMMARY

The issue of sales receipts displaying as gibberish is primarily linked to file encoding problems when using Adobe Reader. Users are prompted to select an encoding type, but this often leads to unreadable output. A common solution involves ensuring only one version of Adobe Reader is installed, as multiple versions can cause conflicts. I'm behind on printing my sales receipts and went to do them today and it's giving me a box that says "File Conversion - Sales Receipt". It wants me to "choose the encoding to use for loading this file". The options are plain text and different languages. Selecting either one just gives me a bunch of coding and jibberish.

I'm sure I've done something goofy when setting up my computer. I need a computer guru to tell me what to do!!

That's happened to me before with various reports. Tech Supports answer was to ensure I didn't have more than one version of Adobe Reader installed, and if I did, to uninstall the older one. Of course, when I tried, I couldn't. But if I closed out of the report or receipt and re-launched it, the problem seemed to be fixed. Now I'm on a different computer and haven't had that problem

You may need to update your version of adobe too
