I thought the hosts in August were able to pick three knives as a host bonus. I'm in big trouble! When the extra knives were announced I thought it was an added bonus, not an either/or. Am I the only one who is confused? Now I have two hosts and one past host expecting to get three knives (one of the new ones) for 60% off. Two of those hosts have already ordered. Obviously, I can't submit the shows with three knives at 60% off. UGH!

Well, you can always enter the 20% off knives on their 20%+ dicount host order plus you will make commission so hopefully you'll break even???

if they want the new knives could you pay the difference?? I k now its a big chunck but not as big as the Santoku knife.

Can you quickly put together your own show... even a catalog show? Then you could get the host benefit and at least get two of the hosts the extra knife. Then you would only have to buy one.
Or, if you know them well enough, you could just tell them the truth... you read the flyer incorrectly and they are only eligible for 2 knives at 60%, but they can get the 3rd at 20% off.
Worst case scenario - you have to purchase the 3rd knife for each of them... at least you can get them at 20% off!

They will get it for more than 20% off though. If you enter the 20% off guest special price on their host order it will take their host discount on top of the 20% guest price. I did this when the Stoneware was on sale.

For example:
Santuko: Guest special price $56 + 20% host discount = $44.80
Plus you commission at least 20% off the host's order ($8.96)
$44.80-$8.96=$35.84 (plus they are paying $28 for it) so you are only in the hole $7.84 or less if they buy the Santuko knife.

Make sense?

Ellen - you are a genius! I can usually come up with solutions like this, but I guess I need to get to sleep because I didn't this time!

So - the REAL worst case scenario is that they all want the Santuko and you end up paying about $25 bucks for all three! I'd pay that to keep from having to tell the hosts I screwed up!!! I screw up enough... no need to actually have to tell them!

I won't be paying anything. My sister doesn't want her booking benefit from the show I did tonight. I will tell the two ladies because they will have to wait another week or so before they get their petite paring knives. I'm just bummed because I don't get to buy the Santoku knife using my sister's booking benefit. :( Tears...
I would love it if they both decide to skip it. Then I'd get my knives. Ugh!

That's great JAE! I'm glad it worked out for you! Who knows, maybe you'll get to use it...keep us posted!

That is the first time in my life I've ever been accused of that....:D I knda liked it!!!

Actually, I think someone showed me that during the Stoneware special so I can't really take the credit. I borrow so many ideas from other PC consultants, I don't remember which ideas were originally mine anymore!:balloon:

Instead of getting both petite knives with your sister's show, why don't you get one petite knife & the Santuko (for yourself) with the 60% off & use the 20% off price plus your sister's discount for the other petite knife? You'll only have to pay the difference from the 60% off price is to whatever that comes to for you, plus you'll make some commission off the petite knife you add to the host's order, so that will offset extra cost, but you'll be able to get your Santuko!

Can't do that, because the Petite PAring Knife is a host only special and is only available as a 60% off Host Special......I know, I learned this the hard way!

Yes, I thought of doing that then realized it wasn't a guest special. Oh well, live and learn.

LOL, now here is where I'd talk my sis into placing a small order on one of those 2 shows, book her show off of that and that way you'd be able to use the PHD for your pasts hosts and get the knife you want for yourself.
