I have a July booking to do a show at a vineyard (literally outdoors, in the field amongst the vines!) and I'm looking for creative ideas for doing a show in such a non-traditional setting.

Let me explain...my host owns the vineyard. Each month she hosts a different social event at the vineyard. These events are intended not only to bring together friends, but to get people actively involved in the growth of her business. For example, this month she hosted a Summer Soltice Party and got guests to pull weeds in the fields! Despite getting hands dirty, these events are always very tastfully done and have a popular turnout. At the Summer Soltice party there was a fluteist and guitarist strolling amongst the vines providing live music, and after weeding guests were treated to chair massages while enjoying a variety of local wines and appetizers.

My host has invited me to do a PC show for her July event. The July event will also involve guests pulling weeds, followed by food and wine. It will be held mid-morning during the brunch time frame. Please share some good ideas! Since guests are free to come and go at their leisure, I won't have a captive audience typical at a home show. I want to do something that ties in with wine tasting, and I want it to be tastefully entertaining, not just a sales pitch. HELP!

I have attached what I have for a wine tasting show - I got it from another consultant

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some theme ideas for a wine tasting show?

Consider themes like "Wine and Cheese Pairing," "Regional Wines," or "Wine and Chocolate Pairing." You can also explore themes based on seasons, such as "Summer Sips" featuring light wines or "Cozy Winter Reds." Each theme can help guide your wine selection and food pairings.

How can I incorporate Pampered Chef products into my wine tasting show?

Use Pampered Chef tools to enhance the tasting experience. For example, the Wine Aerator can help improve the flavor of the wines, while the Cheese Slicer and Serving Boards can beautifully present cheese pairings. You can also showcase wine glasses and decanters for an elegant touch.

What food pairings should I offer at a wine tasting show?

Offer a variety of cheeses, charcuterie, and light appetizers that complement the wines. For red wines, consider rich cheeses and dark chocolate, while white wines pair well with lighter cheeses and seafood. Don't forget to include some bread and crackers for palate cleansing!

How can I engage guests during the wine tasting?

Encourage guests to share their thoughts on each wine by providing tasting cards for notes. You can also host a friendly competition, such as guessing the wine varietal or region. Interactive games or quizzes about wine can also keep the atmosphere lively and fun.

What should I do if guests want to purchase wine after the tasting?

While you can't sell wine directly, you can provide information on where to purchase the wines featured in your tasting. Consider partnering with a local wine shop or vineyard to offer discounts or special promotions for your guests. You can also encourage them to host their own wine tasting shows to explore more options!
