Ok so its been AWHILE since I have posted on here sorry everyone but its been reslly crazy, I went back to work Full-time and been working overtime to play catch up anyway. . . .Monday night I fell down my stairs at home and broke my tailbone and broke a rib on my right side and I am now out of work for at least 4 weeks. I am REALLY REALLY hoping that I will qualify for Disability since I have been employed @ the hospital for almost 10 years but up until 9 weeks ago I was only working once a month as of 9 weeks ago I have been back working full time and overtime hours. So I am really hoping that I qualify. But my question is IF i do get disability is submitting any shows going to affect disability? Cause if not then I really want to try to pack my calender full of as many catalog shows as I can. Anyone have any insite on this?

I don't know about disability, but there have been a couple of discussions about unemployment, so you may want to do a search on that.

Are you talking about disability through the govt or disability through your employer? If its through your employer its like an insurance plan so it shouldn't impact it, however I know with govt disability you are limited to the amount of income you can make per month, you can make money but it is limited.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I know about my rights regarding disability benefits after an injury?

After an injury, it's important to understand your rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). These laws protect your right to seek reasonable accommodations at work and to take leave for medical reasons without fear of losing your job. Additionally, familiarize yourself with your state's specific disability benefits programs, as they can vary widely.

How can I balance a full-time job while receiving disability benefits?

Balancing full-time work with disability benefits can be challenging, but it's possible. Many disability programs allow for a trial work period where you can test your ability to work without losing benefits. It's crucial to communicate with your employer about your situation and seek any necessary accommodations to help manage your workload effectively.

Will working full-time affect my eligibility for disability benefits?

Yes, working full-time can affect your eligibility for disability benefits. Most programs have income limits, and earning above these limits may result in a reduction or loss of benefits. It's essential to report any changes in your employment status or income to the appropriate disability benefits agency to avoid potential overpayments or penalties.

What types of accommodations can I request from my employer?

You can request various accommodations depending on your needs, such as flexible work hours, modified duties, ergonomic workstations, or the option to work remotely. It's important to provide your employer with documentation of your condition and how it affects your work to support your request for accommodations.

How can I ensure I am receiving the correct amount of disability benefits?

To ensure you're receiving the correct amount of disability benefits, regularly review your benefit statements and keep track of any changes in your income or work status. If you believe there is an error, contact your disability benefits provider for clarification and assistance. Additionally, consider consulting with a disability advocate or attorney for guidance on navigating the system effectively.
