The wind gusts are horrible. The television flickered a little and I almost started to panic:cry: We are supposed to get wind gusts up to 50 mph. I don't sleep well because I get anxious about a tree falling on my kids' rooms. They are on the west side of the second floor, right next to the trees.

Wow! That is me too - and you have seen the huge trees in our front yard - and Micah's room is in the front of the house. I'm watching the weather....they are already talking no school for anyone tomorrow.

We're feeling it here too!

I guess I can sleep with a pillow over my head, but then I won't be able to hear the trees fall. We can hear the lake (Lake Michigan) form our house too. It's like a scary movie! It's literally howling out there.

This wind is CRAZY!! Of course, DH is out of town, so it's just me home with my 3 and 6 year old. Luckily my 3 y.o. fell asleep ok, but the wind was starting to freak her out. I hope she doesn't wake up tonight! My poor DS has a sore throat, so we may be off to the dr tomorrow instead of school. He seems to be sleeping through the wind, though.

My wind chimes are going nuts. I should probably go take them down, but I don't want to go out there.

Pamperedbecky, are you getting the snow and ice? This weather is so obnoxious! I was out and about w/o a jacket earlier today.

Yes, it's totally snowing sideways and looks like a whiteout out there. I'm not sure about the ice since I haven't been outside since about 12:30 pm. Let's hope if it's all icy, it'll be gone by morning!:)

Stay warm!!

I must be getting really tired, because that just struck me as hilarious!:D :D :D I need to go to bed!

It's just as windy on this side of the pond, too. Something blew on to the roof about an hour ago and has been rolling around up there. Trust me, I'm not going out in this, let alone on the roof.

Must be sweeping the states. I'm in Alabama and a barn blew across the street about 30 miles from here.

Well, if we can't sleep, we can keep each other company on CS. I will try to sleep, but the big gusts just make my eyes pop open.

And, Becky, it was meant to be funny. Glad I could make you laugh.:)

I can say I have been where you are right now in a horrible wind storm but that was in December... Hunker down and have candles and flashlights by your bedside or battery operated camp lanterns. Here is to hoping that everything will be okay.

I know I shouldn't joke about things like this, but I was not being totally serious about panicking. I was "panicking" because I thought I may not be able to watch t.v. I'm addicted. Never mind the fact that a tree could fall on my house and/or my kids.

The cow jumped over the moon? What happened to the cat and that darned fiddle?

You call that wind??Why here in Wyomin...we often get gusts in the 80-100 mph range...;) Which makes the wind chill outside right now -38degrees.....brrrrrr!!!!!!!!

But the good side to wind is no SMOG!!!;) Not that any cities in Wyoming are big enough for smog! LOL:rolleyes:

The wind is going pretty good here and I am so sick of this snow. I know we need it here in this area but come on. I got home from a show today and I couldnt even tell that I shoveled the walk plus there was coating of snow on my door.

Hi Marlene it has been a long time since I have seen you on here.

I think the news said we dropped 39 degrees here in SW Wisconsin today. The windchill is supposed to be -25 - -35 at 7am tomorrow.

My house is only 15 years old, but everytime a big gust comes through it rattles my DS's bedroom door.

Been hiding out....Hi Jennie!

How's it going in Elko? I always think of you when I come to visit the in-laws! And of course when I drop off my children in Spring Creek for my PC trips! :D Gotta love my sister-in-law, would be lost without her! Told her I will have to leave DH home and take her! She agreed!! LOL

Hope all is well!!:)

It is going pretty good here in Elko. I have been doing really good with my shows I have a show out in Spring Creek Thurs but with this snow I am afraid to drive over that pass hopefully it will clear up before then (yeah right)
I would love it if we could meet up sometime when you are here.

Windy here too! Can't sleep - working on my PC work:)! Taking a break to check in here:)!!!

We are on our 3rd snow day!!   My kids are restless and argueing alot!
I'm having that wonderful woman's time of the month nightmare, and all, I'm doing is scrapping snow/ice off of my car windows, and driving down the road and praying that the car doesn't get stuck!
Snow, go away, and bring the kids back to school!:grumpy:

Snow days...what are those? We rarely have those in Wyoming unless the buses are stuck...and trust me that never happens. I think the my entire time in school k-12 there was one snow day! LOL

Love it when my friends talk about the .25 inches of snow they got shutting down the city!

Different worlds !!! LOL:)

Well you must have sent the winds north:eek: It was just on the local radio station that telephone and hydro poles are snapping in half and wires are dangling on the roadway in many locations. They just now stated that a transport had blown over on its side on the bridge from one side of town to the other. And we're not talking a large bridge - just over the bay. The city only has 40,000 people. There's also a large tree blocking the main road in front of my kids school.

We just built our house this past summer on three acres IN THE WOODS! WHAT were we thinking??!!! I'm looking out and can see trees down throughout the woods. Oh what fun cleanup's going to be. Just grateful none have fallen on the house!

Winds our now 120km/hr. Not sure how many miles an hour that is...

Snow day for us. They called it at 5:19 am, like they didn't know last night! DH isn't going to work. I'm supposed to meet a host in town to close a show. I think I'll wait until later, after the storm warning expires (noon).

Today, I'm going to be calling all of those people I haven't been able to get on the phone. I'll see how the roads are later, and possibly go get groceries. How much you want to bet Meijers will be packed?!:D

Weather day here too...announced at 9 p.m. last night. It was -22.3 degrees at 7 a.m. when I left the house with wind chills of about -46.Needless to say, I am dressed in layers today...and since no one is coming in to work that I care about I'm in running pants and a turtleneck/sweatshirt vs. the dress shirt I had on yesterday!I was NOT about to get stuck in the snow this a.m. in -20 with dress clothes on. Safety over fashion for me today!
