Has anyone else had any trouble with these? I had 2 customers get them as the June guest special, and both have complained that the sauce won't come out. Waiting to hear from the Test Kitchen, but wanted to see if I was alone or not.

I have found that the sauce or marinade has to be pretty thin to get through the hole.

I haven't had any complaints. You do need to squeeze the bottle to get it to come out, though.

I have one, you do need to squeeze a little on the thicker sauces, but otherwise it works great. My complait is that the bottle part stains. I can't take my to shows because its a orange color. My husband doesn't care, he loves it:)

I have not had any problems with mine. The bottom is stained b/c my hubby leaves it in the frig with BBQ sauce in it. But if i take it to shows I just make sure it is full to cover the stains.:D

Thanks for your replies!

Maybe it's a new batch or something. Hopefully I'll hear from HO soon.

With the staining, I know that with plastic containers, a spritz of cooking spray helps with the staining, but I don't know how easy it'd be to spray the inside of these bottles.

Don't worry about it staining. At least that shows you're using it. Plus your guests see that it does stain and won't call you complaining.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my barbeque basting bottle clogged?

Yes, one of the most common reasons a basting bottle may not dispense sauce is due to a clog. Check the nozzle and the opening for any blockages. You can clean it with warm water or a small brush to ensure it’s clear.

How do I clean my barbeque basting bottle?

To clean your basting bottle, disassemble it by removing the nozzle and any other parts. Rinse them under warm water and use a mild detergent if necessary. A bottle brush can help remove any residue inside the bottle. Make sure all parts are thoroughly dried before reassembling.

What should I do if the sauce is too thick for the basting bottle?

If the sauce is too thick, it may not dispense properly. You can thin the sauce by adding a small amount of water or oil and mixing well. Test the consistency to ensure it flows easily from the bottle.

Is there a specific way to fill the basting bottle?

Yes, when filling your basting bottle, make sure to pour the sauce slowly to avoid overfilling. Leave some space at the top to allow for air to escape when you squeeze the bottle. This will help ensure a smooth dispensing action.

Can I use my barbeque basting bottle for other liquids?

Yes, you can use your basting bottle for various liquids, such as marinades, oils, or even salad dressings. However, be sure to clean it thoroughly between uses to prevent flavor contamination and clogging.
