The new one looks a little fancier on a table, although it's just a thin layer of plating/paint, so it's not engraveable. I sold my old one to a Cheffer, so I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, although I think they perform the same. The new one holds more liquid.Shawnna said:So, for those of you who have the old and new style...is the new one as good as the old? When the new one first came out there was a lot of complaints about the material it was/is made of. Do you like it any better now?
It's fairly easy to fill and clean, especially if you have a long-handled brush to get all the way to the bottom of the inside. (I know where you can get one of those.CookingwithMary said:How easy is it to fill and clean?
I'm wondering about the size of the opening, which isn't in the literature.
Seriously considering buying this for myself!
I'm a tea drinker btw...
A high-quality carafe can keep beverages hot for several hours, typically ranging from 4 to 12 hours, depending on the material and insulation used.
Factors include the type of insulation (vacuum vs. foam), the initial temperature of the beverage, the ambient temperature, and how often the carafe is opened.
Yes, many carafes are designed to maintain the temperature of both hot and cold beverages, making them versatile for various drinks.
To preheat your carafe, fill it with boiling water for a few minutes before adding your hot beverage. This helps maintain the temperature longer.
Yes, stainless steel vacuum-insulated carafes generally retain heat better than glass or plastic ones due to their superior insulation properties.
