To those you meet at a fair, what's the best (cheapest) way to send catalogs to those who say they'd like to have one?

You could just take them with you, but if it's after the fact and you've already told them you'd send out a catalog then I've read on here that it is best to tape the three open sides closed and then just address them. I forget how much it costs, maybe about $1.41. That is sticking in my mind. Anyway, next time hand out mini's or your business card or a recipe card with your website where they can look at everything from the catalog and it costs you nothing.

I would havetook them with me, or just send a mini and directions on how to get to the website.

It's been my experience that those just wanting a catalog are just catalog "theives".

I gave out at least 25 catalogs at a show last week. They were mostly to people who wanted to purchase a specific item they needed and were going to order from my website. Easily 15 people were "definitely ordering" something. Nothing as of yet. They were all old catalogs so I'm not upset but I'm a bit disappointed that none of it amount to anything.

I would call and ask them to verify their address. If they call back, you know they're really interested. If they don't, I wouldn't waste my money on nothing....

I did a boothIn May, and I had a bunch (50) old catalogs that I had. I had them sitting the table for people to pick up, they all were gone within an hour, and not 1 person placed an order.

I felt better just giving them away than throwing them in the trash.

That's why I caution droping a catalog in the mail.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I collect contact information from fair attendees interested in my Pampered Chef catalogs?

To effectively collect contact information, set up a sign-up sheet at your booth where attendees can provide their names, email addresses, and phone numbers. You can also use a digital form on a tablet or smartphone for convenience. Offering a small incentive, like a raffle entry or a discount on their first order, can encourage more people to share their information.

What is the best way to personalize the catalogs I send out?

Personalization can be achieved by including a handwritten note with each catalog, addressing the recipient by name, and mentioning any specific products they showed interest in during the fair. You can also customize the catalog by including a flyer with your contact information and upcoming events, making it more relevant to the recipient.

How soon should I send out catalogs after the fair?

It's best to send out catalogs within a week after the fair while the event is still fresh in attendees' minds. This prompt follow-up shows your enthusiasm and keeps your business top of mind. If you have a large number of contacts, consider sending them in batches to manage your time effectively.

What methods can I use to send out catalogs effectively?

You can send catalogs via traditional mail, which adds a personal touch, or opt for digital catalogs sent through email or social media. If you choose to go digital, consider using a visually appealing PDF format that can be easily viewed on various devices. For physical catalogs, ensure they are well-packaged to avoid damage during shipping.

How can I encourage fair attendees to follow up after receiving their catalogs?

Encourage follow-up by including a clear call to action in your catalogs, such as inviting them to contact you for a special promotion or to schedule a cooking demonstration. You can also follow up with a friendly email or phone call a week after sending the catalog to check in and see if they have any questions or need assistance with their orders.
