JAE said:I think I've only ever done one or two weekend shows (that was back when I sold PC the first time). Most people around here have their kids in every sport known to man and play on the weekends OR they have boats or cottages or extended family with those things and are gone on weekends. I would like to get some Saturday brunch shows. Just offer up weeknights. Maybe because your shows are on weekends the guests assume you only do weekends. Help them "think out of the box". I think I need to offer weekends because everyone probably assumes shows need to be on weeknights because it's a weeknight when they are attending the show.
ChefBeckyD said:The only weekend shows I do are Sat. Brunch Shows - and I only do 2 of those a month during the summer - that's all I open up on my calendar - first come first served basis
chefjeanine said:That's how I run Saturdays too. When someone asks for a Saturday I tell them that I start my Saturday shows at 11:00.
I tell people I work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings with an occasional Saturday morning show.
It seems like every time I allow someone to dictate my schedule and book on a day/time I don't normally offer, I end up disappointed. Then I'm mad at myself for giving in to their demands.![]()
To secure weeknight bookings, consider hosting themed parties that appeal to your audience, such as "Quick Weeknight Meals" or "30-Minute Dinners." Promote these themes through social media and personal invitations. Additionally, offer incentives for hosts, such as discounts or free products, to encourage them to book during the week.
Highlight the convenience of weeknight parties by emphasizing that they can be quick and easy to plan. Offer to assist with the setup and provide a simple menu that doesn’t require extensive preparation. You can also showcase the benefits of hosting, such as earning free products and having a fun, stress-free evening with friends.
Scheduling parties between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM tends to work best for weeknight bookings. This timeframe allows guests to arrive after work and settle in before the party starts. Be sure to communicate the start time clearly in your invitations to ensure everyone can plan accordingly.
Use social media platforms to create engaging posts about your upcoming weeknight parties. Share enticing images of your products, quick recipes, and testimonials from past hosts. Consider hosting a Facebook event or live cooking demonstration to generate interest and encourage bookings. Engage with your audience by asking questions and responding to comments.
After your initial contact, follow up with potential hosts via personalized messages or phone calls. Express your excitement about the possibility of them hosting a party and remind them of the benefits. You can also send a friendly reminder about any limited-time offers or incentives that may encourage them to commit to a date.
