Hi Everyone,

One of my customers has asked me for a recipe which features the large round stone. The best she recalls is that the recipe uses sugar cookie dough for the crust and fresh fruit for the topping. I remember something like this from years ago and have searched everywhere I know, including the recipe search in this forums. I can't find it anywhere or anything close. It's not the "Simply Elegant Fruit Pastry", I've shown that one to her.

So if anyone has anything similar to this, please let me know.

I appreciate your help!

I remember this recipe too!! Let me check my OLD catalogs and see if I can find the recipe.

Is it fruit pizza? I think that I saw a recipe for it on here somewhere.

I think it is too. Here's the recipe

Fruit Pizza

1 (18 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
8 ounces cream cheese softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
4 cups assorted fresh fruit such as strawberries, bananas,
kiwi, blueberries, etc (or any other fruit desired)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place dough on round baking stone and cook 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool.

For topping, combine cream cheese and sugar and spread over cookie dough, then start placing on the fruit.

That's it! You are awesome for taking the time to not only look it up, but type it out. Thanks so much!

Now I can make my customer happy!

You're welcome :)

sounds good -- perhaps adding a glaze would be nice -- not sure how to do that but have read it somewhere, or even drizzling some white icing on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Round Stone from Pampered Chef, and how is it used in baking?

The Round Stone from Pampered Chef is a versatile baking stone made from natural clay. It is designed to distribute heat evenly, making it ideal for baking a variety of dishes, including pastries, pizzas, and bread. When using the Round Stone, it's important to preheat it in the oven to achieve the best results, as this helps create a crispy crust.

Can you recommend a fruit pastry recipe that works well with the Round Stone?

One popular recipe is the "Fruit Galette." To make it, prepare a simple pastry dough and roll it out into a circle. Arrange your choice of fresh fruits, such as peaches, berries, or apples, in the center, leaving a border. Fold the edges of the dough over the fruit and bake on the Round Stone at 400°F for about 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Do I need to adjust baking times when using a Round Stone?

Yes, when using a Round Stone, you may need to adjust baking times slightly. Because the stone retains heat well, foods may cook faster. It's a good idea to start checking for doneness a few minutes earlier than the recipe suggests, especially for pastries and baked goods.

How do I care for my Round Stone after baking a fruit pastry?

To care for your Round Stone, allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Avoid using soap, as it can absorb into the stone. Instead, scrape off any food residue with a plastic scraper and rinse it with warm water. For stubborn stains, you can use a paste of baking soda and water. Always dry it thoroughly before storing.

Where can I find more recipes specifically for the Round Stone?

You can find more recipes for the Round Stone on the Pampered Chef website, in their official cookbooks, or by joining online communities and social media groups dedicated to Pampered Chef products. Many consultants also share their favorite recipes and tips for using the Round Stone effectively.
