My kids are over my shoulder. They were watching the video with me. We just bought a new van in Jan. I asked them, "doesn't that look just like our old van?" They all said, "Yeah". It probably smells like it too. Those milk containers are a stink bomb!! All the milk could be gone, but if they leave the container back there WATCH OUT!!

A couple of years ago we had an Explorer that we traded in for our first minivan. When the dude got in it to check the value he came back and asked us, "how long ago was it in a flood?" We were like, "it was never in a flood". You should've seen his face! It stank real bad!! This time we are keeping the van CLEAN! No food for the kiddos unless we are in dire circumstances.

Ha!!! That is so funny!!! I didn't get married until I was 28 and didn't have my son until almost 30. I used to wonder how in the world someone could let their vehicle get that dirty. Now I know. One of the girls I babysit for is really bad. The last vehicle that she had, had so much rotten food in it, it was full of flies.

My DH refuses to let kids have food in the van. Let me tell you it is hard when we travel.

Car Wash!!I love the vacuums at the car wash. And now they even have a carpet shampooer. It is really cool!
I try not to let the kids eat in the car but with traveling and times we just can't help it, I am prepared with a trash bag, plenty of wet wipes and FEBREEZE!! LOL

I'm pregnant how can I not eat in the car? LOL

Can I tell you how many 100s of dollars we spent on carwashes? "Yes, I'll take the Ambassador Wash please. That includes the complete carpet cleaning?" Then 3 or 4 hours later they'll bring the van back around. Every time we would say, "Okay this time, we are keeping it clean." We never did!! But this time it is working! It helps that our oldest are 8 and 9 and can take better responsibility for the stuff they bring into the van. I stand there at the door (not letting them out) and tell them to make sure they get all of their stuff!! They used to have it bad for ripping up paper into little shreds or making little paper balls. NO MORE!! After the first time of cleaning all those little bits of paper up by themselves with their fingers I haven't had a problem with them shredding paper.

Plus now we have that Stow n Go system, so the floors have to stay clean so I can access the bins. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Stow n Go!!

I was JUST thinking yesterday that it'd better stay above freezing today so I can dewinterize my van! Translation: Take EVERYTHING out including seats and clean and steam vacuum the entire thing. I have to do it about 3-4 times a year. We are such a busy family my kids get cups (with lids mind you) in the van and fruit snacks, but I'm amazed what sneaks into my van and hides...you can't tell it is there until the temperature warms up above freezing then... P-U! It drives me nuts at that point so I yank everything out of the van including seat and vacuum and scrub and scrub and steam clean and did I mention scrub? I even take the motor mount out (full-size van) and unscrew all the custom woodwork... Takes a day but I feel so much better afterwards...until 2-3 months later!!!!

OMG, that is funny. We said when we got the new van (2 years ago) that we werent' going to let the kids eat or drink in there, it lasted I think a month. DH also said he wasn't going to smoke in it either, I think that lasted like 2 days! UGHH! I am so embarassed when anyone sees it in between cleanings, but the perils of being a parent, lol.
