I earned the DCB, got it yesterday. The lid doesn't seem to fit! It doesn't go all the way down- and rocks back and forth (width-wise). Have you had many complaints like this?

Re: DcbMine rocks a little bit. It's a clay product, not a precision-machined piece of metal. The clay shrinks when it's fired. There will be shrinkage built into the molds, but all it takes is one piece to have slightly higher water content and shrink differently to not fit. If you're unhappy with it, call customer service and exchange it for a new one. As long as its within 30 days of shipment (from HO), they'll pay to ship it back.

Re: Dcbmine rocked and they sent me a new one with no questions asked. i didn't have to return the old one either

Re: DcbMine fits with only SLIGHT movement. If it rocked back and forth, I would send it back cuz then it's not sealing properly, so lots of steam would be able to escape!

Re: DcbThat was exactly my worry- that it doesn't sit down enough to seal in the moisture & steam. I made the microwave chicken in it (couldn't resist) without the lid- YUM! I did call HO, and they are sending a new one without collecting this one. I wonder if somehow we could sand the part that's keeping it from fitting all the way down?

Re: DcbIt's worth a try (fixing it, that is) and if that doesn't work, you can always use it as a spare, on recipes that the lid doesn't need to fit correctly!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if the lid of my DCB doesn't fit properly?

If the lid of your DCB (Deep Covered Baker) doesn't fit, first ensure that the DCB and lid are clean and free from any food residue. Sometimes, food particles can prevent a proper seal. If it still doesn't fit, check for any visible cracks or damage on the lid or the DCB itself. If you find any issues, contact Pampered Chef customer service for assistance.

Can I use my DCB in the microwave if the lid doesn't fit?

Yes, you can still use your DCB in the microwave without the lid. However, be cautious as cooking times may vary, and you may need to cover the dish with a microwave-safe plate or wrap to prevent splatters. Just ensure that the DCB itself is in good condition and suitable for microwave use.

Is it normal for the lid to be difficult to fit at first?

Yes, it can be normal for the lid to feel a bit tight when you first get your DCB. The silicone seal may need some time to adjust to the shape of the DCB. Try fitting the lid on and off a few times, and it should become easier over time. If it remains difficult, check for any manufacturing defects.

What if my DCB is new and the lid still doesn't fit?

If your DCB is new and the lid doesn't fit, it's possible that it may have been manufactured incorrectly. Contact Pampered Chef customer service to discuss the issue. They may offer a replacement or further troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.

Are there any tips for ensuring a proper fit for the DCB lid?

To ensure a proper fit for your DCB lid, make sure both the DCB and lid are clean and dry before use. Avoid stacking or storing heavy items on top of the DCB, as this can warp the lid. Additionally, store the DCB with the lid off to maintain its shape. If you consistently have issues, consider reaching out to customer service for guidance.
