Here's a quote for you Beth!!

"It doesn't matter how many times you fail. It doesn't matter how many times you almost get it right. No one is going to know or care about your failures, and neither should you. All you have to do is learn from them and those around you because . . . All that matters in business is that you get it right once. Then everyone can tell you how lucky you are." ~Mark Cuban

I have three great books that are VERY easy reads and very short (the longest is 109 pages). "Who Moved My Cheese?" and "The Present" both by Spencer Johnson and the third book is "How Full Is Your Bucket?" by Tom Rath and Donald O. Clifton.

If you only have time for one, Beth, I recomend "The Present."

Another good book I should re-read is "Eat That Frog".

Haha I've had that book for nearly 6 months and I haven't read it yet. ....

Ok, I am in a total PANIC now! I figured this month was a no brainer since I had 5 cooking and 2 catty shows, myself. Well in the last 2 days 2 of my shows have emailed me saying that they need to postpone thier shows. That leaves me with 3 cooking shows, and the one I have already done is at a whopping $275 right now. This is month 3 of reliquishment, and I am really sweating the $4000. Repromotion really won't work for me if it gets that far since I will be in my last trimester, and having a baby. I have called a couple of my team members and they have next to nothing for the month. I feel like I might just need to cry! I have been a director for 3 years and have never been in this situation before. I am going to send an email to my team asking them for their help and to keep me updated with sales totals. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone right now following up on leads, trying to replace my shows... nothing. I am also going to see if I can get a lunch show or two thrown together. YIKES! I hate this!

I can't believe it....my host for tomorrow cancelled because her dog is in the hospital....

Shana, I was in your situation last month and in September of last year. I got some wonderful advice from several Director's on here and this is what I did:
CALL EVERYONE! and I mean everyone. Tell them that you are suddenly in the position to offer a great sale (they do not have to know of your panic!) and would love to offer them 60% off of cookware if they can place or gather $150 in orders OR give a 20% discount for orders under $150. The important part of this is the positive spin~you don't want to sound pathetic or needy, you want to sound excited that you can offer them this fabulous deal!

Good luck!

"Hi Xxxx, this is Xxxx with The Pampered Chef. I wanted to give you a quick service call to let you know your Executuve [or Stainless Steel] Cookware is currently being offered at 60% off for hosts. Anyone who collects $150 or more in orders from our new Fall catalog, can select any piece or set of cookware at 60% off. I don't want anyone who may be interested to miss out on this, so please let me know if you or a friend would like to host a catalog or cooking show this month. (My cooking show calendar is almost full, but I'm adding extra dates specifically to support this special). Thanks!"

I don't even know what to say about that... :bugeye:

Oh wow. That's a new one about the dog. It almost beats (but not quite) the one who said she didn't want to host because she didn't want to pay income taxes on her free products come tax time! Come on!

Shana-YOU CAN DO IT!!! I love Meg's advice and Kris's wording. Get on that phone and try to sound excited and like your'e doing THEM a favor. Let us know how it goes. See how many phone calls you can make today.

for those who have PM'd me asking where I've been, this could've been written by me. I had 7 cooking shows scheduled for this month, most within the 1st 2 weeks. All but 2 have cancelled/rescheduled. My team is depressing. I do have one reactivating this month with a catalog show, but the rest do NOT have a single thing. I can't do 4k by myself with 2 shows. I'm zapped of energy. I enjoyed my business more as a consultant. I'm at a point where I am tempted to resign from PC and wait my year out and IF I decide to try again atleast I'll know what I can/can't do. More so, I think I'll be glad to see Directorship go. I really have not reaped the rewards that many of you talk about. And for the amount of effort/energy/stress it is taking me to maintain it, I've exhausted myself. Many of you know that I do NOT have support from my Director or upline.
Good luck to you all!:) I'm at peace.

HOLY MOLY Amy! I have been worried about you and I know that you feel crappy right now BUT I want you to look back at all you have accomplished over the last year and tell me that wasn't amazing! I know how you feel about consultant vs director and I can honestly say I am right in that boat with you, but maybe you should just stew on it awhile before hanging up your apron!?????

Not that it makes you feel any better, but that would so be me...being single without kids, my dogs are my babies. I'd be a wreck. So sorry it happened though!!

Amy, I've been worried about you and wondering where you were. You have accomplished so much over the past year, are you ready to give that up? If you really are at peace and it's want you want then we all support you 100%. My question for you is, 6 months from now are you going to be happy with your decision? Is this a really big bump in the road or a dead end with a no u-turn sign? Only you know that. You have worked so hard and are amazing at what you do. I hope YOU realize that. Keep your chin up and good luck with whatever decision you make. We are all here to support you in any way we can!

Check out the new updates to Director Policies. They updated them on the 9th...lots of clarification on the repromotion policies.

(My apologies if someone already posted about this...I'm in a spin right now)

PS: One of my May recruits just emailed me and said he just put in his 4th show. Thing is he went inactive September 1. I won't get the trip points but I do get credit for the recruit on my Incentive Calculator, right? If so that's #2 in 2008 and I've earned level one. I'm embarrassed to say (after reading that great trip thread about where you all are) that I am now at just under 24000 points and 2 qualified recruits (if he counts). There I go again, comparing...

Beth - have him put a retroactive waiver in by the 20th. It will cost him $25, but he won't lose his career sales and you both won't lose out on the trip points.

Too late. He submitted a show. So he is reactivated and qualified.

..but not only did I not get my trip points (he doesn't care about those) he also doesn't count as one of my qualified for TPC or for the trip. I knew I didn't get the points but I didn't realize it didn't count for TPC or as one of the 2 or 4 or 6 I need as a director for the trip.

OK-this stinks Beth~you have done the work to recruit him, train him and now you can't get him to count toward the trip or TPC!? What do you think the resoning is on PC's side?

Rules are rules. In order for me (us) to get credit for the incentives, he would have had to not go inactive first. Believe me I did everything I could have short of giving him a show. I can't beat down the door.

I understand not getting the points but I think we should still get the credit for the # of recruits. I did sign him and help him - I can't help it if he didn't respond. Thing is it was just a couple days.

that was my point....it just seems like you are being penalized for his lack of response. It still stinks! ;)

I agree but there's nothing I can do - or could have done. We can't MAKE them.

oh yeah? I know some Jersey girls we can send after them!;)

I understand your pain Beth. I had an HO lead from Feb go inactive in July with only one show left to submit.

Me too :(

Live, learn and now I don't even hold out hope if they aren't qualified in 30. I just assume that I need to recruit another.
Keeps me from being bitter:devil:

That's my attitude too. The focus is qualification in 30.

It just came to me that I was speaking with HO the other day and they said that you can file a retro active leave for the $25 fee even after someone has submitted a show. I was asking because one of my girls turned in a show on August 30th and then got an email on the 2nd that it was on hold.

Funny thing is she just called me with an update. I knew it wasn't much notice but didn't really pay attention to how little notice it was but neither of us got the show on hold email until 10:45 on the 2nd and it said to count towards your August it has to be resolved by Noon on the 3rd. Well she works a day job so she didn't get the email until after 5 pm and so that left her with less than 24 hours to resolve this issue. (keeo in mind the weekend before was Labor Day) Then she couldn't get the customer to return her call so it wasn't resolved for 2 days. Now they are telling her that she went inactive. But if she pays the $25 fee to do the retroactive waiver she will be fine. So just now when she was on the phone with one of the CS people she said "So I'm getting penalized because a customer won't get back to me immediately?" the guy told her "Well I wouldn't look at it like that." Why not that's how it seems. She will lose over $8000 in Career sales and if this doesn't get resolved she just said she probably won't sell anymore. Obviously that upsets me but also because we are pretty good friends too. She isn't a slacker by the way, she just got married and moved a few months ago and hasn't gotten on her feet from that. She has been collecting enough orders from her freinds and family to stay active but just hasn't broken into the market in her new town yet. She even went to conference with me.

I feel like screaming for her.
