Hey everyone. This has prolly been asked before but when I search I never find what I am looking for. I will have my first cooking show scheduled for the 23rd (hoping to get another one in before that but not looking to good right now). I was wondering if anyone had an outline or a plan of attack for a first show. I have been to one show and I saw how it operated but just looking for any ideas from some successful first shows (outline and recipe) I am planning on doing just one recipe since I am really new at this and I have the Starter kit, round stone, and dough roller. I am really just wondering what you do for a show kinda outlined. Thanks for all of your help.

What I did when I first started was to break my recipe down. Next to each ingredient I listed the tool I was planning to use (so I wouldn't forget the name of it) I was amazed at how many tools I used during a recipe. I mainly did the Chicken Club Ring at first. I would also list the price, page number, and the guarantee.

Congratulations on getting started with PC!!

This is what I used when I first started and I've got an abbreviated version that I still refer to during my shows sometimes (I have a tendency to get sidetracked!). Hopefully this will give you a starting point.

As far as recipes go, the Clubhouse Chicken Squares are incredibly easy and can be made with the products in your kit. Not to mention how yummy they are :D

HTH!

That's a great idea, Linda. I can never remember that type of information and I always take a printout of the recipe with me instead of just using the book/SB it's in.

There will also be show outline cards for several recipes in your starter kit.

I ike to demo this recipe...

I make it on the large bar pan.
It isn't too complicated (which is a good thing when you are just starting).

If you go to the PC website you can go through the recipes and find ones that you can use with the products that you have in your kit.

I also paired up the simple short bread buttons with the cool & creamy chocolate fondue (that I bring premade) and serve them in the simple addition set that comes in your kit, just stick a butter knife or spreader in the fondue so the guests can put it on the cookies (they crumble if you try and dip them...yes, found out the hard way :P)

Oh, and thanks Kearstin so much for your show outline. It is great!

When I first started and also still today, I try to make only a few recipies for the month so that I pretty much have them mastered because I was having a hard time cooking and conducting the show at the same time. I also do alot of no demo shows. It is totally up the the host and what they want. I put all the attention on the host and the cool products and really encourage a relaxing and fun show. The sales & bookings seem to take care of themselves. The more you can relax and let your personality shine thru, the more relaxed your guests will be. Just me standing on my soap box... Ok I'm all done now... Have Fun !!!

Great info everyone, Thanks!!

Here is the outline example I give to all of my team members when they start. I still use the same outline format, just simpler!:)

P.S. I haven't even read through this for awhile so there may be products listed that are discontinued.;) I just give them this as an example of what they can do for their shows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I include in my first show outline?

Your first show outline should include an introduction, a brief overview of the Pampered Chef products, a demonstration of a recipe using those products, time for questions, and a closing segment where you encourage guests to place orders or book their own shows. Make sure to also include a personal story to connect with your audience.

How do I choose the right recipe for my first show?

Select a recipe that is simple, quick, and showcases a variety of Pampered Chef tools. Consider choosing a recipe that can be prepared in under 30 minutes and allows for audience participation. Popular options include dips, desserts, or one-pan meals that highlight multiple products.

What is the best way to engage my guests during the show?

Engage your guests by encouraging participation, asking questions, and inviting them to help with the cooking demonstration. Use icebreakers or fun facts about the products to keep the atmosphere lively. Additionally, consider offering small incentives for participation, like a raffle or a prize for the most engaged guest.

How can I effectively manage time during my first show?

To manage time effectively, create a detailed timeline for each segment of your show and practice it beforehand. Allocate specific time slots for the introduction, demonstration, and Q&A. Keep an eye on the clock during the show and be prepared to adjust if necessary, ensuring that you cover all key points without rushing.

What follow-up actions should I take after my first show?

After your first show, follow up with guests by sending thank-you messages and sharing any additional resources, such as recipes or product links. Encourage them to reach out with any questions and remind them of any special offers. Additionally, consider scheduling follow-up calls to discuss potential bookings or product orders.
