Who is doing a Holiday open house?

My hubby is having a "guys show" so I htink an open house also will be overkill

Are you going to do a PC guys show? If so, get their wives/girlfriends to do a wish list.

I am doing 2. One in 10 days with reps from Arbonne & Party Lite, one next month with Avon & Discovery Toys.

Yikes, I better blast my newsletter list!

I'm doing one with a Home Interiors, 2 scrapbooking gals, Silpada jewelry, and Home & Garden Party...the first Sunday of Dec. I'm hoping to follow up that Wed with a "guys only" open house. I'm still waiting to hear back from my fil; I wanted to have it at his shop.

I'm holding my first open house at my house on the 30th. Hoping for a good turnout. Time is slipping - I've got to get my invites out!!

I'd love to do a holiday open house, but they NEVER do well!! My last open house, I sent out over 100 invites and I had 1 person show! Of course, I scheduled it for Derby Day. OPPS!!

I am doing my own on Thursday night next week. Tying it into a Girls Night with watching Grey's afterward.A friend of mine is also having an Open House at her house - she is a Creative Memories consult, she is also having Silpada Jewelry, SLAH, and MaryKay.So, far to my open house, I have 10 people who have RSVP'd that they are coming, but I will be making follow up calls throughout the week.Plus, I make sure to invite EVERYONE I meet! I think that the goody bags I passed on Halloween helped as well.

I'm planning one for November 30th too. I'm doing it as a mystery host show instead of an open house. I'm hoping that will draw more people. I had a flop of an open house last year.

I just did my bil's show on Tuesday night. We had 6 people there & we're at $598 in sales, plus another $33 that his mom ordered. From the 6 people there, only 3 ordered & the other 3 took a catalog. I know that we'll be getting several more orders still. I'm not complaining!

I am doing a holiday virtual open house where guests call and email orders at a certain time for a special discount. I am also doing the Black Friday 15% off sale after Thanksgiving...again if they email or call. We just moved to Coos Bay Oregon and havent really unpacked fully so I dont want people wandering around in all my mess. Maybe I'll do a New Years open house...by then I should be unpacked...I hope...ugh

I am doing one on 11/24 (Black Friday!) with a friend who sells Home Interiors and a rep from Stampin' Up.

Trying to get one together for Sat 11/25 at my house with several other direct sales friends.

How many have you done? I think that if you have one every year, then people will start to plan on it! I refuse to give up & plan to have one every year! Last year wasn't so great for me either, but the year before was good. I'm staying confident that this year will again be good:)

I am doing a Holiday Open House on 12/3 with an Arbonne and Silpada representatives. Hopefully this will do well, I have never done a joint vendor open house before. We are sending out mass email to all of our customers and I am planning on sending post cards to my repeat customers and hosts.

For some reason I have awful luck with Open Houses!! I will send out tons of invites and the last several times I have been lucky to have 4 people show up. The sad thing is, I go to tons of work to make it a great one. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it a hit.

I haven't done one in a while, so this isn't from experience (I'm just passing on info I've heard). Treat it like a regular show and call people you haven't heard from. Yes, that can be a lot of calls, but if you call when you expect answering machines, you can leave a little 15-second reminder:
This is Michelle, your Pampered Chef consultant. I'm just calling to make sure you got the invitation to my holiday open house on <date>, and to see if you were planning to attend so I can be sure to have enough food and freebies prepared. I'm looking forward to seeing you and a friend, so please call me at your earliest convenience - ###-###-####.

We ask our hosts to make reminder calls, so we should make them for our events, as well. :)

Thanks Ann for the advice. You are so right! It makes since to follow up with everyone. I guess I should practice what I preach.

I have been using Post Calls and LOVE IT! If you want more info, PM or email me and I'll get you set up! It takes 5 minutes of my time (I usually mess up on the recording a few times) and gets the info out to people when I want to get it to them. I usually schedule the call for 7pm - most people are home and done with dinner.

I heard about this on a recording. I don't remember the CD, but it was from this year's conference. The speaker (I think Karen something), said that if we mention her we can get a discount.

OK- that was less than useful. LOL

Ann that is a great idea. I wonder how I can do it with the 100+ ppl I emailed on my 2 open houses. I'm doing two on completely different ends of town, different weekends and with different DS reps. Maybe I'll just try to remind the ones I talk to regularly. I'm a little overwhelmed on that and I hope the other DS reps bring in some folks!
