So, are the color coated knives not going away?

Not going away.

I'm glad - I LOVE them! My hands are small, so the santoku fits better and I try to sell them as green for veggies - no cross contamination. The tomato knife is awesome, too!

I love my tomato knife. I want the santoku.

I'm happy that they have not been discontinued, I love both of them. I use the santuko everyday.

I HATE the color but LOVE the knives. My 13 year old granddaughter who was visiting me fell in love with the green santuko (and was expert with it) and I gave it to her thinking it was being discontinued and replaced with a good color or forged one - my loss.

She also wanted my mix and chop - can you believe THAT?? - yes I gave her that too!

Of course I made sure her mom was okay with it - Marie does a lot of the cooking anyway.

Beth,

Congratulations, Gramma

I would love a cranberry colored Santuko Knife.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are color coated knives and why are they popular?

Color coated knives are kitchen knives that feature a vibrant, protective coating over the blade. This not only adds a stylish touch to your kitchen but also helps prevent food from sticking to the blade, making slicing and dicing easier. Their popularity stems from their aesthetic appeal, functionality, and the ability to easily identify different knives for various tasks.

Are color coated knives safe to use?

Yes, color coated knives are safe to use as long as they are made from high-quality materials. The coating is typically food-safe and designed to withstand regular kitchen use. However, it's important to follow the manufacturer's care instructions to maintain their safety and performance.

How do I care for my color coated knives?

To care for your color coated knives, hand wash them with mild soap and water immediately after use, and avoid soaking them. Do not use abrasive sponges or cleaners, as they can scratch the coating. It's also advisable to store them in a knife block or on a magnetic strip to protect the blades and coatings from damage.

Can I use color coated knives for all types of food?

Color coated knives are versatile and can be used for a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, and meats. However, it's best to use specific knives for specific tasks (e.g., a chef's knife for chopping and a paring knife for peeling) to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Where can I purchase color coated knives?

You can purchase color coated knives through various retailers, including kitchenware stores, online marketplaces, and direct sales companies like Pampered Chef. Shopping through Pampered Chef often provides additional benefits, such as product demonstrations and personalized recommendations from consultants.
