Not from us.

Doesn't sound familiar to me, unless she's talking about the corer. I've used that for pineapple.

What in the world?? Are you kidding?? Would have loved to have seen that one Ann.

I believe it's mentioned in Doris's book. And I think there's a pic of it on the 2005 conference tote bag (with the black and white pictures on it). It was a little stuffed pig's head, made out of calico, on a wooden stick. A local woman made them and they had to drop it from the product line because she couldn't keep up with the orders. :)

JWorks- sorry to have hijacked your thread.

Anyhoo-- the item your customer has just might be a PC product. There were a lot of goofy gadgets in some of the older catalogs. That particular one you mention is from before my time.

We need a catalog archive with the contents of all the old catalogs listed. :)

what about the v'shaped cutter. Not sure, but it can make a pineapple look pretty! Just a thought?!:)

Hey don't forget the fly swatter

Bits of Business...

Perfect for Pineapple.
(Thanks Director Katherine Bagley for sharing with the Director's Loop)

Did you know we can "peel" a pineapple with our scalloped bread tube? Just cut off the ends and shove that tube all the way down and voila! It's peeled! Next cut the pineapple in half across the middle and take the corer and core it. Slice into flowers - put them on a skewer with grapes in the center and voila - edible bouquets! Or use the apple wedger for coring and wedging; or after slicing use the apple corer for chunks.
I have posted this on another site and people have really loved it, I myself have never tried it because we don't eat fresh pineapple around here, but HTH, before they are discontinued anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pineapple scorer and how does it work?

A pineapple scorer is a kitchen tool designed to help you easily cut and core a pineapple. It typically features a sharp, spiral blade that allows you to slice through the fruit while simultaneously removing the core, making it easier to enjoy fresh pineapple without the hassle of traditional cutting methods.

Why should I use a pineapple scorer instead of a knife?

Using a pineapple scorer is often quicker and more efficient than using a knife. It minimizes the mess and reduces the risk of injury, as the tool is designed specifically for this purpose. Additionally, a pineapple scorer can help you achieve uniform slices, enhancing the presentation of your fruit.

Can I use a pineapple scorer for other fruits?

While a pineapple scorer is specifically designed for pineapples, some models may work well with other similar fruits, such as melons or large apples. However, it’s best to check the manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure that the tool is suitable for other types of fruit.

How do I clean and maintain my pineapple scorer?

Most pineapple scorers are made of stainless steel and can be easily cleaned with warm, soapy water. It’s important to dry it thoroughly after washing to prevent rust. Always refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for specific care guidelines to ensure longevity.

Where can I purchase a high-quality pineapple scorer?

You can find high-quality pineapple scorers at kitchenware stores, online retailers, or specialty cooking websites. Brands like Pampered Chef often offer reliable options that come with a satisfaction guarantee, ensuring you get a product that meets your expectations.
