Has anyone tried doing a turkey breast in the DCB in the microwave? Kind of like the 30 min. chicken? If so, how long did it cook and what did you season it with?

TIA
~Maria

I did one last week. My host said it was a boneless turkey breast, but when I got there, it was a 5 1/4 pound bone IN breast!! I didn't panic, I knew my DCB could handle it. I made the rub PC gave us for the chicken. Cooked it a total of 29 mins. It was beautiful and perfectly cooked and the guests gobbled it up (no pun intended ;) ) I sold 4 bakers at full price and had a $900 show!!

BTW, I did not cover the baker, I cooked it just like I would a chicken. HTH

Thanks Ruthie! That is good to know!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DCB and how is it used for cooking turkey breast in the microwave?

The DCB, or Deep Covered Baker, is a versatile cooking tool from Pampered Chef designed for microwave and oven use. When cooking turkey breast in the DCB, it helps retain moisture and flavor, resulting in a juicy and tender dish. Simply season the turkey, place it in the DCB, cover it, and microwave according to the recommended time for the weight of the turkey.

How long should I cook a turkey breast in the DCB microwave?

The cooking time for a turkey breast in the DCB microwave varies based on its weight. A general guideline is to cook it for about 6-8 minutes per pound on high power. Always use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F for safe consumption.

Can I add vegetables or other ingredients when cooking turkey breast in the DCB?

Yes, you can add vegetables and other ingredients to enhance the flavor of your turkey breast. Carrots, potatoes, and onions work well. Just make sure to adjust the cooking time slightly, as additional ingredients may require more time to cook thoroughly.

Do I need to cover the turkey breast while cooking in the DCB?

Yes, it is essential to cover the turkey breast with the lid of the DCB while cooking. This helps trap steam and moisture, ensuring the turkey cooks evenly and stays juicy throughout the cooking process.

What are some tips for ensuring my turkey breast turns out perfectly in the DCB?

To ensure a perfectly cooked turkey breast in the DCB, consider these tips: season the turkey well, allow it to rest after cooking for about 10 minutes before slicing, and use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. Additionally, avoid overcrowding the DCB to allow for even cooking.
