I have a customer who said she has the cookie press and is not pleased with how it turns out. She says the cookie does not sperate from the press and she has used the pampered chef recipe that came witht eh press.

Does anyone have any tips for my customer? She was wondering if the cookie dough should be a certain temperature or if anyone else has had this problem.

SInce I don't have one myself, I can't test it.

I would greatly appreciate any advice :p

Tell your customer that I had the same problem:eek:  Put it back in the box & NEVER opened it again:o :o :o

Unless someone here gives you a magic solution, my advice would be to tell her we have the best customer satisfaction guarantee, and she can send it back. I have never had any luck with that THING! And I would not have an unhappy customer over it!!

I dont have the cookie press but my dirctor said to take the flour and stir it with the whisk then scoop it into the cup and not mash it she showed us just scooping out of the container and the stirring way and when you just scoop out the flour it makes it heavier HTH

Tell her to click then PAUSE a second to give the cookie a chance to adhere to the stone. :) LOVE my cookie press.

It is just 1/2 cup of peanut butter. I couldn't remember that either once when I made them. Used a whole cup and cookies were a mess!!
But, when I make them right, they look great and everyone eats them up!!

I learned another trick on this site, press the cookies onto parchment paper, so when the stone comes out of the oven, you are not trying to press the cookies (which melt quickly) on the the hot stone. Just transfer the sheet of parchment paper onto the stone, and right back into the oven!

I have heard that if the dough is too sticky to add a little bit of flour to it, to keep it from sticking to the press.

you guys are great! I appreciate your stories of struggle and your knowledgable advice.

This customer bought the press from someone else a while ago, so I wouldn't want to tell her to call customer servie - I have no idea how long she has had it.

I will pass along these suggestions... thank you!!!:)

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if my cookie press is not working at all?

If your cookie press is not working, first ensure that it is assembled correctly and that the plunger is fully engaged. Check for any blockages in the nozzle or the disk. If the dough is too thick, consider adding a little moisture or using a different recipe that is more suitable for cookie pressing.

Why are my cookies coming out misshapen or uneven?

Misshapen or uneven cookies can result from inconsistent pressure on the plunger or using the wrong type of dough. Make sure to apply even pressure when pressing the cookies. Additionally, ensure that the dough is the right consistency; it should be soft enough to flow through the press but not too runny.

How can I prevent my cookie dough from sticking to the press?

To prevent sticking, make sure your cookie dough is well-chilled before using it in the press. You can also lightly dust the inside of the press with flour or use parchment paper on your baking sheet to help with release. If the dough continues to stick, consider adjusting the recipe to include more fat or less moisture.

What type of dough works best in a cookie press?

Shortbread or butter cookie doughs typically work best in cookie presses because they are soft and hold their shape well. Avoid using doughs that are too soft or too crumbly, as they may not hold together during pressing. Look for recipes specifically designed for cookie presses for optimal results.

How do I clean my cookie press after use?

To clean your cookie press, disassemble it according to the manufacturer's instructions. Wash all parts in warm, soapy water, and use a small brush to clean any stubborn areas, especially around the nozzle. Rinse thoroughly and allow all parts to dry completely before reassembling to prevent any residue buildup.
