Has anyone tried making polenta and cooling it in the bread tubes? I would like to do this and slice it thin to use for polenta crackers, fried polenta, veggie lasagna, etc. If I sprayed the inside of it before I put the polenta in it, it shouldn't stick, right?

Sounds like a good idea. Try it and see what happens. The worst case scenario would be that it sticks and you have to soak it in really hot, soapy water for a bit. Let us know what happens!

Yes, it is possible to make polenta and cool it in bread tubes. Here is a basic recipe for polenta:Ingredients:- 1 cup polenta (coarse cornmeal)- 4 cups water- 1 teaspoon salt- 2 tablespoons butter or olive oilInstructions:1. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.2. Gradually add 1 cup of polenta, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.3. Reduce heat to low and continue stirring until the polenta thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pot, about 15-20 minutes.4. Stir in 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of butter or olive oil.5. Spray the inside of the bread tubes with cooking spray.6. Pour the polenta into the bread tubes, filling them about 3/4 of the way full.7. Let the polenta cool and solidify in the bread tubes for at least an hour.8. Once cooled, carefully remove the polenta from the bread tubes by gently pushing it out from the bottom.9. Slice the polenta into desired thickness and use for polenta crackers, fried polenta, or in any other recipe that calls for polenta.10. Store any unused polenta in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.Note: You can also add in herbs, cheese, or other flavorings to the polenta before pouring it into the bread tubes for added flavor.
