Oh that would be so nice now wouldn't' it????? !!!!! :D

Well, Friday was another of those days when I talked to several people but had no immediate return. Not a problem. I'm building relationships.Today I'm headed to my husband's company picnic. I'll be a walking billboard, so I expect to make my contacts in person today. I will be making a few calls, though.

I didn't have such a great week this week, but I sure did have fun doing summer stuff! Talked to three neighbors about PC and my pre-fall open house, yesterday. I'm going to the farmers market and Art in the Park today wearing my PC shirt. Let's see what happens.

Well I am gearing up for a day of calls. Going to try to make up for some of my slacking off this past week.

Leah.. What are you handing out for recruiting. what kind of clues are you keying in on to have people want recruit info?

Has anyone heard the idea of putting a sticker on the YLYW DVD that says something like "If you LOVE your job do NOT watch this!" Then seal the DVD so you can tell if they have watched it. I'm thinking of doing this.

OK....I need to become a member of this thread! My business has been floundering for several months....some of it is self imposed...we've had a lot going on this spring and summer...family issues and what not. It'd be great to get things back off the ground so we can have the extra money again!

we are here for ya! Set that goal and go for it!!!

Leah - Great news with the fairs.

What type of fairs are you getting into and how did you find them? I really want to do something like that, but don't know where to begin. The few things I have called on say that they only are for "crafts".

Please HELP!

there are amny threads on the best place to find out about fairs and festivals. Seems like someone asks every 2 weeks. Especially this time of year.

Craftlister.com is good but I have better luck with my local paper ecpecially the smaller "free" papers. Ask everyone you know if there events they go to or have heard about. Just keep trying! If you are determined you will find them. Oh and county fairs are great especially if is'nt to far for you to go. My Very small county fair is costing me $125.00 for 4 days. not too bad for the kind of traffic that you are just about garunteed to come thru.

The recruiting packet I am giving out is the YLYW DVD & Brochure, my apron comes in five sizes, and 10 of the frequently asked questions about becoming a consultant. The 90 day incentive program brochure, and the rewards brochure. now if these arent' the excat names for them I am sorry I am half asleep right now and on my way out the door for another 13hours at the fair!! LOL :D :p :)

THANKS Leah!!! I will be in your shoes next week! But I can not wait for my fair to start! Good luck today!!!

Talked. Called. No response. Back to work on Monday.

I made 1 contact today, but it was with a stranger (which I never do! so I was proud of myself!) I was at Office Max (btw, always bring the retail connect card I saved like $30!!!) and the guy checking me out mentioned that his mom uses Pampered Chef. I asked him if he had and he said he doesn't cook, only tacos and I said well we do have something just perfect for that. I pulled out my mini catalog and showed him the mix 'n chop. I mentioned that we could have him and a bunch of his buddies over and I could show them how to make some easy stuff and he could get some free stuff. He seemed kind of hesitent, but I said "hey I've done it for a big group of ladies when they drink and they can be rowdier than guys!" He said, ya know the more I think about this stuff the more I like it. I told him to call or email me if he has any questions...

sorry for the long post, but this is one of the first times I have ever talked to a stranger, so I was pretty proud of myself. Tomorrow comes more calls! 2 dates in August to fill and 6 in September... I can do it!

No luck today. Only one live contact. Actually, if you count my friend/neighbor that told me "No" to a bridal shower, I guess two. I also made a live contact with a potential booking but she told me to call her back in the P.M. So I guess I did make 3 contacts afterall! They just all sucked!

BTW, I did call her back in the P.M. and she didn't answer her phone! Grrrrr!

Here's a little "help" I passed along to my team. Go to the dollar store or WalMart and get those medicine containers that have the 7 days of the week (KWIM?) - you can get them for $1 - and put in 3 M&M's or 3 mints or 3 pennies or whatever and each time you make a contact you get to take one out (and eat it if it's food). If you don't make all 3 calls you move them over to the next day.

It's a great way to track whether you are really making the contacts or not.

Beth, this is an awesome idea! I need to go to Wal-Mart tomorrow so I will get one. Thanks!

I'm here. I'm ignoring this thread because I'm not having a very productive week. Hopefully, I'll get back to everyone tomorrow with good news of reaching my 3 contact/day goals. One contact Monday and one contact today. I guess I need to make 10 contacts tomorrow. Oooo, that could be bad. Guess I'd better make my list.

JAE, I am with you on this... I hate admiting I am not doing what I want to do. I know I am letting myself down but I am trying to not beat myself up for it.

I did make a couple contacts last night (Friday night). We went to a nearby town for their parade and fireworks. I am not sure why they held it just that they were doing it. Several streets closed down and it was fun. I went with my PC shirt on, carrying the bag from the supply order form, and eventually put on my PC hat. I brought a few catalogs, drawing slips and business cards and carried the bag like a purse. I found out about how they are doing a German Day and asked for information about that for a booth and gave the chairperson my business card.

Later at the parade we were sitting on the curb and a lady sitting behind me asked for a card that was being passed out to use to fan herself since it was so hot. I said well you want it for that you need one of these and gave her a catalog. We talked and she likes the knives and may book a show. She had given my neighbor her business card and I plan on calling her tomorrow night.

Oh wait, I did mention PC one more time last night. A friends sister was selling raffle tickets and I told her (more joking than anything) if she booked a show, I would be happy to buy a raffle ticket. I should follow up with her on that!

Maybe I can get back on track. My plans are for tomorrow night to make many calls. Maybe set a 2 hour time to do it.

Okay here is my 3-2-1 for today..... I booked two more shows in September!!! My secret????? Is I get excited about the cookware.......I use the 7pc cookware set retail value as a starting point and then I tell them that as a host what the price is. I emphasize that this special is ONLY good for HOST in September. I show them that if they want more cookware that it is also half price combo in the back of the catalog!!!! I ended this fair with a total of 12 total shows booked one is Aug, 8 in September, 2 in Oct, and a bridal shower booked for April of 2008!! Total sales were $269.72~~~!!! Not bad eh???

I am SOOOO jealous Leah! I'm happy for you to! All of us are trying to get the "3" part of the 3-2-1 and here you are actually getting the "2" part! I'd love to get 8 shows in a month! I have 4 + 1 catty for September so far! Say a prayer that none cancel!

Congrats Leah! That is so awesome!!!!! I need to use that excitement when I call tonight!

Today is Sunday. I didn't make any contacts today. Better luck tomorrow hopefully. I didn't even try.

I slept till like 11 this morning..... I was beat.... now I am up late getting ready for another week long fair... and let me tell you I am so excited about it!!! And I will do it again next year!!! :)

Well I didn't even attempt any calls today. I have made way too many excuses in the last couple days. I am up late tonight making my list for tomorrow. I have made myself a challenge for the week. I am also preparing for a fair next week. I only expected to work a couple of shifts but I am down for 4 shifts. Whew that will be a long week. I work full time at a bank. That is a whole lot of being on my feet! I so wish that would cause me to lose weight during that time! hahaha I did talk to a friend of mine today. She is moving down the street from me and she wants to book a show in September - wants the cookware. I hope to get that on the calendar in the next few days. Her sister is a past host that needs to set a date for a show as well. She is a party girl, has a Partylite party next month and just booked a Passion Party. I wonder if she books the shows so that she can keep her house clean! hahaha Right now my calendar is bare! I have no shows in August or Septemeber and I have 1 booked for October. I have several people who want to book but I am having trouble getting them to set the date! That is what I plan on working on this week. My calendar is scary! I want it to be busy scary not empty scary!

Susan

So I made 2 contacts yesterday -- a past host called wanting to order something. I mentioned that I will be having my mystery host in a few weeks (she won my last one) and she was excited! I also spoke with the guy checking my out at Office Max. He took my mini-catalog and kind of liked the idea of a cooking show for him and his bachelor friends who don't know how to cook. I didn't get his contact information, but I was pretty proud just for talking with him, as I wasn't "in the mood" if you know what I mean. I just put a smile on my face and did it.

Today I talked to 2 people at Target (they both approached me -- I was wearing the sparkly shirt from merrill)... I gave them a mini catalog and spoke with them briefly, but I didn't get contact info, as I was not feeling so well and wanted to get home -- if you know what I mean...

I also made some booking calls and booked another date in August and finally got a hold of my cousin (previous $1,000 host!) who has been out of town, but doesn't use email/voicemail/caller id/any sort of thing from this century. She is calling me tomorrow during the day, so hopefully we can set her date... I have 1 date open in August still (the one a friend had to cancel), 2 dates if I really want (it would mean 3 days in a row of shows followed by a road trip to visit friends...).

I left a message for someone who wants a September date, but I didn't have my calendar set at the time.

Oh yeah, I spoke with a friend who did a show last October for me, who used to be a consultant, and asked if she knew anybody who needed cookware and she said "we do!". I mentioned the host special and then we got cut off when her husband's aunt came over. We will talk this week (we talk almost everyday anyway...)

Today was pretty good and it put me back in the calling seat :)

And I organized my office a bit last night, so that come my crazy schedule I know where everything is and it all has a place!
