Hi! I'm hoping you all can help me out a bit!

I have my very first show (which is going to be a catalog show) this week. My dad is going to do a catalog show at his office. I was thinking of sending in a large bar pan of brownies, too. Do you think that may help drum up some more orders? I was thinking that if he set out a few catalogs along with the brownies they may get more attention.

Does that sound ok?

I was supposed to have my Grand Opening Show prior to his catalog show, but we changed his show to accomodate his twice a month payday! Anything else I should know or try??

Thanks in advance!

Kristy, I did my first 2 shows as catalog shows and have 4 going on right now along with a fundraiser catty show. I think that they are wonderful b/c they require sooo little time and energy. I wish I could give you advice but I too am a newbie!

Good luck & best wishes!!

There are some great things in the files section on here...you might want to check them out. I'm new, myself, but I've had a couple of great catalog shows....especially when they fall on payday! :)

Sending the brownies is a wonderful idea! You may even (if you have a website) have cards out that direct people to your site to get the recipe....just a way to get them viewing your site. OR if you don't have a website yet, have cards with your email address/phone number for people to contact you for the recipe...that way, you'll have several new people to talk to...

Hope this helps!:o

Food, IMO, is always a great idea! Esp. in an office. It'll attract attention to the products and strike up conversations with co-workers about the stuff they have and love. Make sure dad keeps a close eye on your products - you don't want them walking out the door at the end of the day! ;)

Print out a list of the discontinuing items and the current/upcoming specials. I did this once at my mom's workplace (I used to work there too) and got over $100 on the retiring items!Good luck!

Good luck, Kristy!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a catalog show and how does it work?

A catalog show is a type of direct sales event where products are showcased through catalogs rather than in-person demonstrations. Hosts collect orders from friends and family over a set period, allowing them to earn rewards based on the total sales. This format is great for those who may not be able to host a traditional party but still want to participate in the sales process.

How can I effectively promote my catalog show?

Promoting your catalog show can be done through various channels. Utilize social media platforms to share your catalog link, create engaging posts about featured products, and encourage your friends to share the event. Additionally, consider sending out personal invitations via email or text to make it more personal and inviting.

What are some tips for increasing sales during my catalog show?

To boost sales, offer incentives such as discounts or freebies for orders over a certain amount. Highlight popular or new products in your catalog to draw attention. You can also create a sense of urgency by setting a deadline for orders and reminding guests about limited-time offers or promotions.

How can I engage my guests during a catalog show?

Engagement can be achieved by hosting a virtual gathering where you can discuss the products, share recipes, and answer questions in real-time. Encourage guests to interact by asking for their opinions on products or sharing their experiences. You can also run contests or giveaways to keep the excitement alive.

What should I do after the catalog show ends?

After the catalog show, follow up with all participants to thank them for their orders and support. Send out a summary of the show’s success and any rewards earned by the host. Additionally, consider reaching out to those who didn’t place an order to see if they have any questions or need assistance with their choices. This helps maintain relationships and can lead to future sales.
