We are in the market for a new camera for the Disney trip... the one we have now is about shot, and we are looking for a reasonably priced reliable replacement. Anyone have any experience w/ the camera/camcorder ones? The pixels on the ones that we've looked at don't seem to be that high, so we are wondering about a grainy quality to the picture....

Any brand would do, as long as it a nice one. Suggestions?

You can find a 10 mpixel for hardly nothing. I have a Nikkon and really like it. My mom has a samsung and it is amazing. Sonys are also great.

I have a earlier version on this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001SER4BK/?tag=pfamazon01-20
I will always buy Canon! The prize is great, the photos are great and the videos are too. The only thing I don't like is that it does go through batteries like crazy!

I am also a Cannon Gal. I'm on my 2nd one. I got an Elph 2 years ago when I got my laptop. Dell had a great deal. The software is super user friendly and The Cameras are easy to use. I have loved mine!

We just got a Pentax K-x. It's not a point and shoot camera - it's slr. I love the quality of pictures that I'm getting and the true color that's coming with them. While this camera does video too, the quality isn't the same as a camcorder.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some affordable camera options for capturing memories at Disney?

Some great affordable camera options include the Canon PowerShot SX620 HS, Nikon Coolpix B500, and the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W800. These cameras offer good image quality, zoom capabilities, and user-friendly features, making them ideal for capturing magical moments without breaking the bank.

Is it worth investing in a DSLR or mirrorless camera for a Disney trip?

While DSLRs and mirrorless cameras provide superior image quality and versatility, they can be more expensive and bulkier to carry around. If you're passionate about photography and want to capture high-quality images, it might be worth the investment. However, for casual photography, a compact camera or even a smartphone may suffice.

Can I use my smartphone for taking pictures at Disney?

Absolutely! Modern smartphones have excellent cameras that can take stunning photos. Make sure to utilize features like HDR, portrait mode, and various editing apps to enhance your pictures. Just remember to bring a portable charger, as using your phone for photography can drain the battery quickly.

What accessories should I consider for my camera during the trip?

Consider bringing a sturdy camera strap for comfort, extra batteries to ensure you don’t miss any moments, and a portable charger for your devices. A lightweight tripod can also be useful for group shots or low-light conditions, especially during nighttime shows or parades.

Are there any specific features I should look for in a camera for theme park photography?

Look for a camera with a fast autofocus system, good low-light performance, and a decent zoom range to capture both wide shots and close-ups. Additionally, features like image stabilization and burst mode can help you capture action shots of rides and parades more effectively.
