I feel absolutely awful:( I had agreed to swap shows with a Home Interior consultant. My show for her was to be this week and her show with me is scheduled for September. I did what we would want our hosts to do - I overinvited, I sent out the invites in plenty of time, I asked everyone who did not RSVP. In the end, I only have two people planning on coming and one of them told me she would not be buying anything. I had to call the HI lady and leave her a message that I wanted to cancel and switch to a catalog show. I hate it when hosts tell me that!!!!

Anyway, now I have to talk to her about her show in September with me. I hate situations like this.

Can you still have the show with those 2 people and just get a bunch of outside orders before your show. That way it won't be so dissappointing to the consultant if you have alot in sales anyway.

I feel your frustration. Sometimes you do all you can do and still nothing happens...Best wishes for your upcoming show.

I had to call a Creative Memories consultant once, on the day of the show, to tell her that *every single* guest had cancelled - the last few had cancelled the morning of the show. The consultant was a friend of mine, too. :( She never suggested a catalog show, though - I'm not sure if that's something CM does though.

I had this happen to me... a friend of a friend was starting out with partylite, so I agreed to host a show for her. We set the date, I sent out the invites... then I got the T-Ball schedule!!!!! My son's FIRST game was that night :( Turns out that HER daughter was on the oposing team. We were both going to miss the first game! But, we decided to go ahead and do the show... until the day of the show when I called everyone to make sure they were coming and EVERYONE cancelled on me :( So, we both made it to the game... and I thought all was lost on my show until I gave the catalog to my neighbor. I knew she'd order something, but she came back with a $220 order!!!!!!! (She is a REALLY good PC customer for me ;))

Anyway... these things happen! I hope the consultant you were working with understands is still going to hold her show.

I can truly say that if I hosted a party of any kind and everybody canceled at the last minute they sure better have a darn good reason.(sometimes they do) I've had hosts that this has happened to and I have always felt soooo bad for them. My biggy is people who say they are coming and then don't:eek: I don't get it, just be honest!!! I take things personally and would be so hurt if friends and family did this to me:(

Every time I've hosted any kind of party it is a dismal failure. Even though I invite at least 30-40 people, every one of them cancels. I've stopped bothering now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I struggle to get people to attend my Pampered Chef parties?

Getting people to attend your parties can be challenging. Consider the timing of your invitations, the convenience of the location, and the interests of your potential guests. To increase attendance, try hosting at a time that works for most people, such as weekends or evenings, and offer incentives like giveaways or discounts for attendees.

How can I make my party more engaging for guests?

To make your party more engaging, focus on interactive elements. Incorporate cooking demonstrations, hands-on activities, and opportunities for guests to ask questions. Personalize the experience by sharing your own stories and favorite products, and encourage guests to share their own experiences with Pampered Chef items.

What if my friends and family are not interested in hosting parties?

If your immediate circle is not interested in hosting, consider expanding your network. Reach out to acquaintances, colleagues, or join local community groups. You can also offer to host virtual parties, which may be more appealing to those who prefer to participate from home.

How do I overcome my fear of presenting at parties?

Feeling nervous about presenting is common. To build confidence, practice your presentation multiple times, ideally in front of friends or family who can provide constructive feedback. Familiarize yourself with the products and rehearse your key points to make your delivery smoother and more natural.

What are some effective ways to follow up with guests after the party?

Following up is crucial for maintaining relationships and encouraging future sales. Send personalized thank-you messages to each guest, and include a recap of the party highlights. You can also share special offers or upcoming events to keep them engaged and interested in future Pampered Chef opportunities.
