I'm confusing myself and the more I look at it the worse it becomes...

I'm confused on the first sales tax right after Subtotal C. Then again it has tax under subtotal D.

Someone break it down for me for an order (with direct shipping of $14.00) of $72.45.

I'm looking at both forms (tax on S&H and no tax on s&H) and there is only one place for tax.

Which OOF are you using?

The April one.

There is tax after Subtotal C and that's it. I don't see any other place for tax there.

I don't have the form in front of me but is there a spot for the pantry food tax? Maybe that's where you are questioning.

Are you using HO's OOF for April or one that someone made and posted on CS?

There are a couple different outside orderforms on cc. One for states that have tax on shipping, one for states that don't charge tax on shipping and I think one where things are shipped to APO addresses. Make sure that you are using the correct one for your state.

The sales receipt works like this for a state that does have shipping tax:
product total
shipping
tax on all of the above

food total
tax on food (if applicable - by state)

total of product/shipping/tax plus food/tax = due + round up.

Does that help at all?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the total amount of the order before tax?

The total amount of the order before tax is the sum of the product price and the shipping cost. In this case, it is $72.45 (product) + $14.00 (shipping) = $86.45.

How do I calculate the sales tax for the order?

To calculate the sales tax, you need to know the sales tax rate for your location. Once you have the rate, multiply the total amount before tax ($86.45) by the sales tax rate (expressed as a decimal).

What if the sales tax rate is 7%?

If the sales tax rate is 7%, you would calculate the sales tax by multiplying $86.45 by 0.07. This results in a sales tax of approximately $6.05.

What is the total amount due after including sales tax?

To find the total amount due after including sales tax, add the sales tax to the total amount before tax. For a sales tax of $6.05, the total amount due would be $86.45 + $6.05 = $92.50.

Are there any additional fees I should consider?

In addition to sales tax and shipping, you should check if there are any additional fees such as handling fees or service charges that may apply to your order. These can vary based on the seller's policies.
