So I FINALLY have my hands on one of these and it makes a weird clicking sound when you pump it (empty, haven't put food in it yet). Is that normal? My S&B Spinner doesn't make that noise.

I would say that the blade is not on straight, but it will not work unless everything is all in place. It must be coming from the lid and I do not recall a clicking noise.

Mine does make a weird sound when it's pumped when empty. Try it with food in it (make a salsa) and if it still makes that noise call HO and get a replacement.

yes, mine makes a clicking noise when it is empty

Thanks ladies! Yes, it seems to be coming from inside the lid. I've used the S&B spinner empty at a booth many times before and never had clicking, so I put the MFP back in the box & haven't used it yet. I was afraid something was broken up in the pump mechanism. ;)Will be curious to see if the one sitting at my house in Japan does the same thing. It took forever to arrive & didn't come until after I did the evacuation - so I never got to play with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What could be causing the weird clicking sound in my new S&B Spinner?

The clicking sound in your new S&B Spinner could be due to the mechanism settling in or a slight misalignment of the parts. It's common for new kitchen tools to make unusual noises as they are used for the first few times.

Is it normal for the S&B Spinner to make noise when in use?

Yes, some noise can be expected when using the S&B Spinner, especially during the initial uses. However, if the clicking sound is excessively loud or accompanied by other issues, it may require further inspection.

How can I determine if the clicking sound is a problem?

If the clicking sound is consistent and does not affect the performance of the spinner, it is likely normal. However, if you notice any difficulty in operation or if the sound is accompanied by unusual resistance, it may indicate a problem that needs to be addressed.

What should I do if the clicking sound persists?

If the clicking sound continues after several uses or if you have concerns about its performance, consider contacting Pampered Chef customer service for assistance. They can provide guidance and help determine if a replacement is necessary.

Can I prevent the clicking sound from happening?

While some noise is normal, ensuring that all parts are properly assembled and that the spinner is used according to the instructions can help minimize any clicking sounds. Regular cleaning and maintenance can also contribute to smoother operation.
