Anyone have any advice?

Re: Gps?I have a TomTom and love it - very easy to use.

My boss said TomTom's are more user friendly but Garmins are good too! I don't think you could go wrong w/either of these brands.

I got mine for Christmas. My parents bought it from QVC for a really good price plus easy pay (several months to pay for it). I know because I called my Mom and told her I wanted it:)!

Re: Gps?We have a Garmin. I love it! We got ours on clearance from Circuit City (they were/are going out of business.) My mom and step dad have a TomTom and they love it. I prefer our Garmin though.

Frequently Asked Questions

What features should we look for in a GPS device?

When choosing a GPS device, consider features such as real-time traffic updates, voice-guided navigation, large display screen, ease of use, and the ability to download maps for offline use. Additionally, look for devices that offer points of interest and customizable routes to enhance your travel experience.

Should we choose a standalone GPS or a smartphone app?

It depends on your preferences and needs. Standalone GPS devices often have larger screens and may provide more accurate navigation in remote areas. However, smartphone apps are convenient, usually free, and can be updated regularly. Consider how often you travel and what features are most important to you.

How much should we expect to spend on a GPS?

The price of a GPS can vary widely based on features and brand. Basic models can start around $100, while high-end devices with advanced features can cost over $300. It's important to set a budget and compare features to find the best value for your needs.

Can we use a GPS for hiking and outdoor activities?

Yes, many GPS devices are designed specifically for outdoor use, offering features like topographic maps, waypoint marking, and long battery life. Look for devices that are rugged and waterproof if you plan to use them in challenging environments.

How do we keep our GPS device updated?

Most GPS devices require regular updates to ensure accurate maps and traffic information. Check the manufacturer's website for software updates or use the device's built-in update feature. Some devices also allow you to connect to a computer for easier updates.
