Unemployed in MA: Can't Receive Pampered Chef Health Insurance Under State Law

In summary, if you are currently unemployed in Massachusetts, you will not be able to receive health insurance from Pampered Chef due to state law requiring employers to provide insurance only to their employees. There are no exceptions to this law, but you may be eligible for other forms of health insurance through the state or federal government. Once you are employed again in Massachusetts, you will be eligible for Pampered Chef's health insurance benefits. It is important to research and explore all of your options for health insurance while unemployed, and to discuss benefits with your employer upon being hired.

Ok so I am unemployed right now and was looking into the PC health insurance. Can you believe the state of MA has some law in place so that they can't offer me coverage??? I hate the MA government. But yet it is the law that everyone in this state has to be covered. What the???

Kristin, I really hope that you get this all resolved. It doesnt make sense to me when they say you have to have insurance but then they wont let you get it. Good Luck

We can't get the PC insurance in NJ either. Is there a state plan you can go on?

We can't in Maine either. I don't understand why. They complain about the amount of taxes paid for the state insurance, when many people have the offer of insurance through work and aren't able to take advantage of it! Donna

Well, that's messed up!! How can PC offer it, and then a State can say no?
I guess I'm confused!

Does anyone have the PC insurance? What do you think? Can you include your kids?

I am studying Public Health, and in one of my Policy classes, we just began talking about how Mass will be having almost like a Universal health care coverage. I do not know the details so that may be a reason why you can not get the coverage. Sorry, not much help. :-/
