Ultimate Harry Potter Birthday Party Ideas and Cake Inspiration

I am having a birthday party for my son and we are going to have a Harry Potter theme. I wanted to make a cake for him. This is his last years cake and I wanted to do something special for him this year as well. Any suggestions?!

I was thinking about doing the golden snitch with our small batter bowl.. That would be Caleb's cake, and then something else for the other guests.

My daughters 1st bday I plan on making a turtle with the prep bowls and batter bowl it is amazing what you can do cake wise with those bowls

Sillychef, How did you make that dinosaur? I mean, what type of pans? Did you just make some cakes and cut them into about the shape you wanted and then frost?

You could also bake one in the small batter bowl, top it with a sugar cone (the pointy kind), then ice the entire thing as a wizard hat.

The batter bowl would be perfect for a couldron too. Just make the bottom flat (cut it with a knife) and scoop out a little of the top to make an indention. Orange or green icing in the center, black on the outside, and maybe a cinnamon stick for the ladle. Of course you'd have to get some cute things to 'float' in the top. Hmmmm...I made some mini couldrons for halloween by dipping some large marshmallows in melted chocolate and now I'm thinking they'd go pretty good together LOL.
