I was slicing potatoes tonight for dinner and using the crinkle cut blade, but it kept leaving the last little piece of the potatoes stuck in the blade, so I had to push it up from the bottom to free it. Does anyone else's do this? How can I get it to not get stuck? I've noticed it doing this before, too.

I get dingle-berries with onions too. It's quite annoying. I don't have a solution for it, though. I love that you call them dingle-berries. It's the perfect name for them!

uh-oh....i can only image what The_Kitchen_Guy will/would say to this. lol

hehehehe...no comment!

I can't read this thread. I just can't. I have an eight year old son with less-then-stellar bathroom habits. I will never look at my UM the same again LOL

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if the last piece of potato is stuck on the blade of my Pampered Chef Potato Slicer?

If the last piece of potato is stuck on the blade, try gently tapping the slicer on a cutting board to dislodge it. You can also use a small utensil, like a fork or a toothpick, to carefully remove the stuck piece without damaging the blade.

Is there a way to prevent the last piece from getting stuck in the first place?

To prevent the last piece from getting stuck, try slicing smaller potatoes or cutting larger potatoes into halves or quarters before using the slicer. This will ensure that the slicer can handle the size more effectively and reduce the chance of pieces getting stuck.

Can I use the Potato Slicer for other vegetables, and will that affect the last piece getting stuck?

Yes, the Potato Slicer can be used for other firm vegetables like carrots or zucchini. However, the size and shape of the vegetable may affect how well it slices. Ensure that the vegetables are of a suitable size to minimize the chances of pieces getting stuck.

What should I do if the blade is damaged and causing the last piece to stick?

If you notice that the blade is damaged or dull, it may be time to replace it. A damaged blade can lead to uneven slicing and pieces getting stuck. Contact Pampered Chef customer service for replacement options or to inquire about warranty coverage.

Are there any cleaning tips to ensure my Potato Slicer works properly and reduces sticking?

To keep your Potato Slicer in optimal condition, clean it immediately after use. Use warm, soapy water and a soft brush to remove any food particles. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the blade. Regular maintenance will help ensure smooth slicing and reduce the likelihood of pieces getting stuck.
