I am looking for ideas on how to help local fire station kitchens. In particular how to approach them. Has anyone done this?

Janet would be the perfect person to answer this since she is a PC'er and firefighter ;)

Well, I would take them a nice trifle to introduce yourself and ask if they are interested in ordering for their wives or if they'd like to do a show to earn products for their kitchen.

Most already have good pans, I'd be sure to demo the knives definitely, the new grinders and other utensils...You're feeding a "large family" so don't go in with the fancy little things or decorative things...

Perhaps a multi-level fundraiser? Have people donate by purchasing the items for the station's kitchens AND put it all in as a fundraiser for a local burn unit. A wish list for each station posted on your website and each station set up as a separate show... but then you put it all in under one order to get the max fundraiser benefits....?

That's a great idea!

Where in OH are you? Small town? Large town? Then it really depends...small towns don't have multiple stations, only larger towns/cities do.It's really hard to coordinate amongst stations even in a city, they don't operate as one...

On a side note, I FINALLY have pictures of me in gear!

Our local fire company is always looking to raise funds for a new truck or ambulance, I hadn't thought of doing a fund raiser for them, but will now approach them. Thanks for the idea.

Every summer in the next town over the FD does a cookout to raise funds. I think I might contact them and see if I can't set up a booth with them, then treat it as a fund raiser to help them out too! My town is too small for its own district, so they service us. I'd love to help them out!

Okay...I give up! Which body in the tan coat are you? LOL!

I'm assuming she's in the red hat since the first inital on the jacket is a J.

Funny, yes, I'm the short one since I'm the only female, and have a red hat since I'm an officer. ;)

Around here:White hats: Chief or Assistant Chief
Red hats: Captain or Lieutenant
Blue hat: Safety Officer
Yellow or Black: Regular Firefighter or Junior Firefighter depending on the department
