HELP....I have a pair of sandals I wear alot....casual ones....but they make my feet reek.......anyone have a remedy for stinky sandals?????????? I KNOW someone here can help me!!!:yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: ;)

Hate to ask, but are they leather or synthetic? Most genuine leather shoes won't smell. It's the synthetic ones that are nasty sometimes.

I got this from yahoo---I might give it a try for DH!

In the newspaper, the column called Heloise, had a hint about this problem. That writer said to make little cloth bags (like bean bags) and fill them with a good quality cat litter. The cat litter absorbs all kinds of yucky odors. I haven't tried this but it seems like it would work pretty good.

Colleen they MUST be synthetic....LOL...maybe it's time for a new pair!!

I had a pair of sandals that I loved, and they would stink so badly! They were cheap knock-off brands though.

I have a pair of those really flat sandal/tennis shoe things I got from Target. They are like that. Everytime I wear them my feet stink so bad! Only when I wear those shoes though. I don't notice my feet sweating in them so I am not sure where the odor is coming from. I tried not to wear them, but they are so darn cute! I have to only do it when I know I'll be hopping right into the shower or pool or something.

I have some Clarks that I just love and they do the same thing. They are genuine leather, but I don't think the footbed is. Anyway, I bought some Birkenstock Footbed Cleaner and I use it every now and then and it gets rid of the smell.

This is what I got, just the cleaner and it comes with a brush (http://www.birkenstockbeach.com/ecom/ProductDetail.php?id=26631&category=5441). There also is a deluxe kit that comes with other types of leather cleaner if you'd like something more. Good luck!!

I just got a pair of Crocs, but they are flip flops! I love them! And I am not normally a flip flop person (because I have had foot surgery) but I love them and they have heel cushion!!

(they are not the shoe version of crocs) but an actual flip flop! They were $40 at Macys, but I had a coupon so I got them for $32!

Crocs has some cute other shoes. I have a pair of wedges from them, but they give me a blister where the strap across the top rubs the top of my foot. They've got a ballet flat that is just the most adorable thing, too.

We use Odor Eater foot powder on our daughters sandals that she has the same issue with. I put the powder on when she took them off and that has helped ALOT! Our nephew had the same thing with his flip flops and they had passed the tip on to us.
