My friend wants to do a Sweet 16 PC party for her daughter who aspires to be a chef. Any ideas on how to make this special??? TIA! My only other request was that it be easy and inexpensive, lol. It will be mostly teenagers and a few of their moms. Hoping to turn this into a big catty show with the moms, too. Any ideas welcome!!!

Wow that sounds like fun and something my daughter will want in the future, she is 9.
Well here are some suggestions to make if fun, special and inexpensive.

Look online on eBay and purchase some aprons. They are cheap. You can also personalize them for each guest.

Next have the teens participate in the cooking. Have foods that are easy to assemble but require them to get into the serving of the food.

I suggest the Easy accent decorator to decorate cupcakes, small tartlets, etc for dessert.

Have food stations with different types of recipe already pre prepared that they just have to assemble - maybe some delicous wraps or something like that. Write index cards with instructions for them to follow.

Have the quick stir with some yummy punch. In the file section you will find lots of punch and drink recipes.

Maybe some party goody bags with an SB recipe book, quikut knife, citrus peeler, etc... for the girls to take home.

Have a special gift for the birthday girl! Maybe the EAD, since it is half off for us in the supply order form.

Make the barbie cake!! Make that and bring it and then figure out some fun recipe for the aspiring chef to make with you!

I'd make it more gourmet (& elegant) not pizza especially if she wants to be a chef. Foods that the giirls might not normally have at a party
maybe teach garnishing for a veggie tray something in the trifle bowl
check around at party stores alot here have new years stuff cheap (tiara's etc) put a spin on it about Dining with the Diva or something (if she's girly) like that

Maybe have the girls do loads of appetizers and finger food deserts. The fancy ones Like the tuxedo brownies or chocolate fondue.and I love the confetti the chef made on the dvd that we got with our supply order....Those are the kinds of fancy things that I think of when I think of a CHEF> I would also serve as many things on SA pieces as possible. those are fun and decorative and useful perfect for a birthday party and the other moms there will see that!!

These are awesome! - and I love the theme "Dining with a Diva". Thanks for all these great ideas - I can't wait to go over them with her and her mom. :) And the Barbie cake will be awesome, too. Gotta find one with a tiara....

THX!

If it turns into a sleep over, maybe try a couple home beauty care recipes towards the end of the night, as well.
