I'll be turning the big 50  in March and want to do something fun and creative during that month. Any ideas?!? I thought about offering any one item on page 50 of the catalog for 50% off .. but that's where my ideas stop. Thought some of you creative geniuses could help me out!!

Re: 50On my 45th birthday I offered free shipping to anyone who purchased $45 or more.

Re: 50I am going to be 50 on Mothers Day , that:s a goog idea to do somthing that month I will have to do somthing in May

Re: 50that's a cool idea. I'm going to be 30 Feb 3rd so maybe I'll do something too. I was already going to do the superbowl mystery host thing. So I think I can get February off to a good start. Now I'll have to work on January being a worthwhile months

Re: 50How about unlimited 50% off items for any host that month who have a show of $500 or more?

Doing the math: With a $500 show her discount is 25% so you are really giving a 25% discount on those items. What I have done is tell P3 that all items over the free are 1/2 price, give the host that total, and then change the least expensive ones to regular price to determine my cost (the difference between what you told the host she owes and what she actually owes). I have had several people take me up on it, getting several extra things, and the most I've ever had to spend out of pocket (actually from commission) is $10 or so - and I pay it as "Consultant Gift" so it's deductable too.

For guests: Everyone who spends $50 or more gets a free Season's Best ...or 5% off their order ($2.50 for $50 order) (or whatever you want to give).

Re: 50What if she adds all cookware to her order that is alot of money to pay 25% of the balence

It's a chance you take but I have never had anyone do that (everyone has a budget) - oh, and don't forget at $500 you keep 2 of them as 50% off so the most expensive would be covered by her host benefits. I honestly don't think I've ever paid more than $10 out of commission doing that.

Also, 75% of the cost of the items (that's minus her 25% show discount) is commissionable and counts toward incentives for us too - including the January double trip points.

If she spends $200 with her 25% discount. The amount due would be $150. 25% of that (your part to pay) is $37.50. Commission (at 25% level) on that $150 is $37.50. If the commission is only 22% for you that month the commission for you on her order is $33 but then you have to subtract the commission for any orders she worked harder to get to get herself to the $500 level if applicable to find out your actual investment. Remember, too, that the $150 gives you points for the trip, lifetime sales and whatever other incentive that's going on. And the $37.50 (in this example) is tax deductable.

Again, that has not ever happened to me though - they have always spent far less than I earned in commission. Actually, I usually offer it for $700 or more shows and only when I really need the sales for some special incentive that I am close to. I suggested it at $500 because of the 50th birthday thing.

Re: 50I see your point but if you are saying as much as you want for 50% off , I have had may host pay out of pocket 300.to 500 with high priced item at there % and we don't get commission on the host 1/2 priced items . I have so far knock on wood budget problems with host ( I live in CT )

We don't get commission on the PC provided 1/2 price items but if WE offer it at half price we do get commission on the amount over the show discount.

Re: 50You could advertise the BIG 5-0. The first 5 customers pay 0 shipping or tax. That way you would be giving 5 people something for 0 instead of doing something for 50 people. Or you could do the first 5 host getting an item of your the consultant's choosing for 0.

Re: 50I think you will be surprised how affordable you can make it, with just the offer of a FREE
Season's Best for anyone ordering $50 worth. In addition, mention that if they buy up to $60, PC will also be giving them our Jan. guest or Feb. guest incentives. So, they win double! I'll never forget how I ended up buying close to $100 worth of products at the first PC party I attended, because the guest special for that month was our small measuring spoon set (value at the time was about $7.50). I had originally planned on spending about $25 worth but got carried away. A year later, I became a consultant.

Re: 50Hmmmmm ....I'm turning 40 in April .... Page 40 of the current catalog doesn't have any items on it (just a photo) so I'm hoping the spring catalog has more stuff!I like the "big 4-0 idea ..."

Re: 50Thanks everyone - there are some great ideas here. I'm going to be doing this promotion in March - so am anxious also to see what the host specials are ...

Re: 50I like the extra half priced items idea ... but maybe you could put a stipulation on it? Like "host a $500 show and get 5 half priced items up to $500 in value". The two most expensive items would obviously be 1/2 priced by PC. Say they picked five $100 items, you would only be paying 25% of three of the items ... so the max out of pocket would be $75.00. If they choose 1 or two high priced items & 3 smaller items, you would get out for cheaper. If it's a $500 show, you would earn a MINIMUM of $100 commission for the show, so you would not be in the hole.

We can't do "ship to host" out here, it violates Japan's Customs Regulations ... but in the states, you could offer free shipping (to the host) for guests with orders over $50. It wouldn't really be beneficial for me ... but it would be for those of you who can do the "ship to host" option.

Then you could advertise it as the big FIVE-O ... FIVE 1/2 priced items for the host* & ZERO shipping for guests*. I agree that most guests who are spending $50 to earn free shipping will probably go ahead & do $60 if it's a requirement for the March guest special.

When you send out your e-mail ... make sure you tell them: "MARCH on over to your phone and give me a call today to place your order!" LOL (or "... to schedule your cooking show", etc.) That would be just too cute!!!

Re: 50This might take some catalog checking, but at first glance, you could offer 10% off
of items that end in "50", or that have a value ending in .50. At least you would not
get caught giving 10% on our Cookware or big ticket items. The Kitchenware pages
do seem to have quite a few in those catagories. It would get folks looking through
the catalog for sure.
