Do you ever feel guilty that you don't have any shows booked and then you go to your cluster meeting with no shows on your calendar and you feel like you shouldn't be there?

I think that if you don't have any shows booked the cluster meeting is the best place for you to be!! If anything you will just be motivated to have shows for the next meeting. Take a tele-class to get you motivated before you go so you can at least be thinking positively about your business.

If your having a great month the meeting needs you - if your having a bad month you need the meeting!! That is what my director always says!!!

That's a great line! And very true! That's what meetings are for, for everyone to feed off each other's successes & motivate each other.

I am going to use that line! Tell your director thanks!

It's a hard balance at the meetings. Directors want to reward those doing well, so sometimes the ones who aren't succeeding don't get noticed. I always feel yucky leaving my meetings even though everything is upbeat and I'm usually one of the better ones there (more successful consultants in my cluster just don't come to the meetings anymore). It just never seems like I'm doing enough. This isn't my director talking but my personal perceptions. Of course, I feel the same way leaving church (oh, I should do x, y, and z more).....

It's rare that I miss a meeting. I realize how important it is to GO regardless of my show and sales numbers. Just going is a refresher on what I'm doing and why. :)

I try hard not to go with an open calendar. I at least mention that I'm doingmy ongoing catalog shows and that I'm waiting for some calls back. Actually, thats kinda what I'm doing now! Its been a tidal wave since I got back from conference. I'm hoping to make some really good calls today and tomorrow since its rainy!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I feel guilty about not having enough booked shows?

It's important to remember that every direct seller experiences ups and downs. Instead of focusing on guilt, try to shift your mindset to a growth perspective. Reflect on what you can learn from this situation and consider setting small, achievable goals to increase your bookings. Reach out to your network for support and brainstorm new strategies together.

How can I overcome the fear of rejection when trying to book shows?

Fear of rejection is common in direct sales. To overcome this, remind yourself that rejection is not a personal failure but rather a part of the process. Practice your pitch and role-play with friends or fellow consultants to build confidence. Additionally, focus on the positive responses you receive, and remember that every 'no' brings you closer to a 'yes.'

What strategies can I use to increase my bookings without feeling pushy?

To increase bookings without feeling pushy, focus on building relationships and providing value. Share helpful tips, recipes, or cooking demonstrations that showcase Pampered Chef products. Engage with your audience through social media or in-person gatherings, and express genuine interest in their needs. When you approach bookings as an opportunity to help others, it feels more natural and less sales-driven.

How can I stay motivated when I have a lack of booked shows?

Staying motivated can be challenging during slow periods. Set personal goals that are not solely focused on bookings, such as improving your product knowledge or enhancing your marketing skills. Celebrate small wins, connect with other consultants for encouragement, and remind yourself of your 'why'—the reason you started your direct sales journey in the first place.

Is it okay to take a break if I'm feeling overwhelmed by the lack of shows?

Yes, it's perfectly okay to take a break if you're feeling overwhelmed. Stepping back can provide you with the clarity and energy needed to refocus your efforts. Use this time to recharge, reflect on your goals, and explore new ideas for your business. Remember, taking care of your mental health is crucial for long-term success in direct sales.
