Need Help and Advice for Personal Situation Keeping Me from Leadership?

I have a personal situation that I don't want to type about, but it has a very good chance of keeping me from going to Leadership. I would like to ask for some help and advice. If there is anyone who has either not gone to Leadership or is good at being a gentle, listening ear and possibly have some insight or advice, I would be ever so grateful if I could call you tomorrow or Monday and talk. I know I'm not giving you all much to go on, but I really don't want to type it all out. Hey Kate....sorry to hear things are tough right now. I've never had to cancel going to a conference at the last minute, but I AM a good listener (I am a licensed therapist and did therapy/counseling in my "previous life"-not that you have to have that to be a good listener) so I'd be happy to listen and help in any way I can. Sometimes you just need to vent or get something out, too. I'll PM you as a back up.

I'm not able to go this year either due to personal reasons. It sucks. I too would offer to help but it sounds like you already have plenty of ears.

I'm not going either....we need to put $$ into savings while we still have my husband's paycheck coming in. I made the decision months ago to not go.

Thye just laid off 35 at my husband's work yesterday. It is the largest layoff since 1983. He works for the railroad....nearly a recession-proof business.

I may actually have to take the $1500 Visa Card option instead of the Mexico trip if he gets laid off in the next month. It will come in handy to pay for food and heating bills. Some times you just have to make smart decisions and know that other opportunities will come along in the future.

Well, I'm not going. I don't want to go into the situation (and if you've ever met me in person, you know I talk alot and about everything), but I know I made the right decision.Thanks so much for all the PMs and support, I couldn't have made the right decision otherwise. I am looking for someone to keep me updated as well as mail me some mini catalogs (I'll send the money for them and the shipping - 3-4 packs should fit into a flat rate envelope) from Leadership. It totally sucks that I'll be missing out on spending some time with my fam in CO, but I did see them 4 times this year.Thanks again and have fun without me! Heck, have a drink for me!
