As a PC Consultant, what do YOU think are the absolute "MUST HAVE'S" for a new bride?

Here's what I think:
pots and pans
knives and cutting boards
scrapers
spatulas (small and large and grill)
nylon tools
microwave cookers
mixing bowls
ice cream scoop
stainless steel scoops (at least the med. and sm)
garlic press
whisk
batter bowls
(easy read) measuring cups
colander/s
food chopper
vegetable peeler
pizza cutter
kitchen shears
bread knife
large round stone
bar pan
rectangle baker
bread pan
cake pans
cooling rack
basting brush
I wish I would have registered for better kitchen tools, but I didn't know any better.

Only 1 response?!?!?!

How about just listing your top 3???

I think every bride is different - but I like the "Well Stocked Kitchen" list from PC.

Absolute musts?

Good Cookware
Good Knives
Good Mixing Bowls
Good Spatulas/Scrapers

I think the measure all cup is a must have along with the tool turn about to put all your cool tools in.

Medium Bar Pan
Deep Covered Baker
Cutting Boards
Ultimate Mandoline
Tool Drawer items

I'm finding that, generally speaking, really young women don't have much appreciation for quality kitchen tools. They haven't spent enough time in the kitchen with the stuff that just doesn't quite do the job to realize that there really IS a difference.

A young bride will typically appreciate the round stone and pizza cutter. 1 or 2 smaller pans, spatulas, and can opener. You will have those that like to cook and you can go from there.

If others are thinking about what she needs in the future and buying for her, she should go with the higher end items and save the smaller ones for herself to fill.

Bar Pan
Round Stone
Simple Additions in various sizes and shapes
Seasonings of all sorts
Covered Baker
Whisk
Can Opener
Scrapers
Bamboo tongs

PC has a well stocked kitchen list you can download.
But if you're looking for a short list:
--Cookware
--Forged Cutlery
--Cutting Boards (Large Grooved)
--Simple Additions
--Stoneware

Scrapers
Easy Read Measuring Cups
Medium Bar Pan
Pizza Cutter
Microcookers
Batter Bowls
Prep Bowls
Large Round Stone/Rack
Cooling Rack
Measure All
Color Coated Santoku Knife
Can Opener
Chef's Tongs
Salad Tongs
Serving Bowls (SA/Colander & Bowl Set/Salad & Berry Spinner, etc)
Food Chopper
Cutting Boards
Family Sized Skillet & Lid
Chillzanne Rectangle Server

I love everything, so this was a hard one!

Just 3? Okay. It will be hard but I'll try. The three things I wish I had when I was first married are:
scrapers
spatulas
knives
pans
Sorry, that was four. I guess I'd take the spatulas off. I received the glass pans and pots, my knives were cheap, and so were my spatulas.

I agree with whoever said that sometimes a new bride may not appreciate good kitchen tools. Depends how long they've been out on their own whether or not they cook a lot, etc.

My favorite "basic" items are:
scrapers - especially the classic and skinny
spatulas (large and mini)
micro cooker
batter bowl with lid
pizza cutter
round stone
oven mitt
a few cookbooks

I'd then add:
good cookware (to be appreciated later!)
good knives (ditto)
vegetable peeler
basting brush
prep bowls
nylon tool set
measure-all
cutting board
trivet
more stoneware...
