am i the only one who thinks that is soooo wrong that they actually keep listing her exact home address? Obviously, nothing is sacred anymore, but can you imagine the "gawker traffic" that is going past her family/children daily now.

I'd rather have them put that in which is readily found than most of the junk they are putting out there - true or not, use some discretion and courtesy to the family.

Now these kids will be tracing their family history when older and coming across articles about mom and her activities...how sad is that?

Janet,

You may want to delete your post regarding Todd. He is from the Grand Junction Sentinal that wrote the first (balanced) article. The one I just posted is from the Grand Junction Free Press.

Other than that...I so totally agree with the sentiment.

They are just supplying extra info to make up for knowing nothing. I read in one article that it is on a private road, so hopefully not too many people are getting close. The one video showed the kids playing on the pool though, so I am sure that the grandparents aren't doing too much to prevent the gawking.

Addresses are a matter of public record so they actually can print it... whether or not it's in good taste is another matter. Sometimes reporters can lose their perspective just to get a story out. It's just not right. I just hope this doesn't become a topic for an episode of Law & Order. I was visiting my aunt a few years ago and a weird kidnapping happened in her town and when it was solved, I made the comment that it would be on Law & Order. The following season, the "story" was the season premiere. They changed a little of it, but the premise was the same.

I'm sure whoever has her made sure her cellphone was turned off so that calls went to voice mail. Remember - they were able to find the girl in Kansas a few weeks ago by the signals given off by her phone since it was left on.

I'm so scared for Paige, the longer this goes on I'm so afraid of the outcome.

OMG- that would be horrible! I really, really hope that Paige's story will be WAY to happy to ever air on L & O.

I really can't believe they posted this in the paper either. I'm so sad for her family and Paige. I pray she comes home today!

I agree the longer this goes on the more scary it gets. I hope some kind of lead shows up soon

That is totally disrespectful of that paper to print.....and I hope someone from there is here to read us all saying that. I had half a mind to email the address given. I agree, if her kids ever do family research later in life, I feel so bad for them if they find that kind of info on their mom...:(

To the Grand Junction Free Press and any representatives that may be here...
That article was utterly tasteless and posting all the information does not help find Paige or her kids.
I wish you and your staff would have better discretion!!!!!

To Todd who keeps hanging out here...
Please make sure your staff uses good taste and discretion! Thank you in advance!

I am with you Janet - this was is SUCH poor taste and was not necessary info to post to help find her.

At church on Sunday, our pastor preached about being "FOUND." I kept thinking of Paige, hoping I would come home to news that she had been found, too.

I just have no other words...this is so sad.

Thanks Gillian, I was just doing the same thing when your post hit.

I've been thinking Paige probably had a client list...either for business mgmt or 'insurance' (or both).

Hear's another article that appeared today...the highlighted part is mine. Nothing new; just nice to see her friends and family are driving home how dedicated a mother she is.

Good night. Wishing I was with Wave 1 at the bar tonight. -kris

Secret life surprises kin, pals of missing woman

Paige Birgfeld (file photo)For most of last week, friends and family of a missing Grand Junction mother were surprised on an almost- daily basis as they learned the secrets she had been keeping.

Over the weekend, they found out one more: She went by another name.

Paige Birgfeld, 34, occasionally told people her name was "Carrie," police said, also announcing for the first time that they suspect she is the victim of foul play.

Birgfeld used the pseudonym with customers of an escort agency before she disappeared June 28, Mesa County sheriff's spokeswoman Heather Gier hart said.

The investigation is focusing on people who were in contact with "Carrie" and the agency, "Models Inc.," around the time she went missing, Gierhart said.

Birgfeld's involvement with the escort service was a surprise to friends and family last week.

"We didn't know any of this," her mother, Suzanne Birgfeld, said Sunday.

But, she said, the new information helps the search for her daughter, whose three children, ages 8, 6 and 3, are beginning to really miss her.

"We added the name 'Carrie' to some of the fliers we're handing out," she said, adding that she did not know where the name came from.

Gierhart said there are "potentially" other names Birgfeld used, but investigators have yet to confirm that.

"Models Inc." does not appear as a corporation in secretary of state records or a general Internet search.

One thing that was not a surprise to those who know Birgfeld was the sheriff's revelation over the weekend that someone else is probably involved in her disappearance.

The picture that friends have painted of Birgfeld is of a beautiful, committed mother who sold Pampered Chef products and taught dance to preschoolers to get by.

Investigators previously said any explanation was possible, including the theory Birgfeld staged the whole thing. They kept an open mind even after her car was found July 1 engulfed in flames in an empty parking lot about 3 miles from her home.

Some theories have since been ruled out, Sheriff Stan Hilkey said Saturday in a statement.

"Nothing during the course of our investigation has led us to believe that Paige walked away from her family or that she left of her own free will," he said.

No one has been named a suspect and no one has been ruled out, but focus is drifting away from Birgfeld's two ex-husbands, Gierhart said.

Friends have said that Birgfeld was afraid of her second husband, Rob Dixon, who was planning to move back to Colorado from Pennsylvania.

She apparently even posted her fears online in March under the name "Paige Dixon" on a forum for people who sell Pampered Chef products.

She and her first husband, Howard Beigler, had recently started seeing each other again, and he was one of the first to report her missing, a friend, Andrea Land, said last week.

But now, Gierhart said, "some people are of less interest than others. ... Both of them (the ex-husbands) are of less interest."

Someone should be ashamed......how can someone print an article like that and still sleep at night???

They're not sleeping at night... they are staying up writing more and more to get their articles printed and more exposure for themselves.

And some people have no morals, ethics, self-respect... you name it!

Did anyone else read all the comments on the abc article... I want to see how they feel when people who don't even know them, or the exact facts, trash them on a website. It angers me so much that this is going to be there forever and anybody (her family) can read what horrible things people have said about her based on a reporter's story!

People are idiots and looking for a fight from their comments. They can say all the horrible things that they want- it is their opinion. Luckily we all get the chance to know Paige for who she really is. Why is she being painted as an escort who was a wonderful mother on the side? Why isn't it the other way around?

Even if Paige is an escort- or what if she is a coked out prostitute that NEVER takes care of her kids- she doesn't deserve to live or be searched for?? WTF? The one comment talks about karma- they are in for a dose of some for deciding that Paige doesn't deserve to live because of her lifestyle.

I absolutely am not saying that Paige is a coked out prostitute never takes care of her kids of course, but proving a point that everyone deserves to live and be searched for... unlike what those horrible comment posters believe. Incredible...

Good post gillian! and you made me laugh, which goodness knows we all need lately.

<highjack> when do we get more pictures of Baylor? <end highjack>

Well, since everyone is begging for pictures of my baby, LOL... I did take some new ones today. I will upload them in a few.

It freaks me out that this website is all over the papers. What's $5 to see what we're saying about her? I bet the person responsible for where she is is lurking on here...

Thanks for the updates!

But just think...now Deb and Greg have some extra $$$ to improve our site. :D

It makes me sick to see what those idots wrote. Baychef was wonderful in posting her comments. I am glad she did. I agree that whatever Paige did to make ends meet should not halt the search for her. She didn't deserve to go missing. She doesn't derserve to be without her children. I do hope they find her and soon.

I'm praying for your safe return home Paige!

Thank you, I didn't think they made it on because I was so p.o.'d that I wrote it, then when I submitted it, I had to sign in and set up an account. When I went back, I did't see what I had posted and then had to leave.
That is my professional p.o.'d mode! If I had written what I really wanted to...I could have easily sounded as ignorant as some of them. I was happy that most came to her defense.

I have a couple emails that I will share that I will share with you. There was a post on a yahoo group in regards to Paige and if HO knows, etc. so I posted to tell them that HO knows and went into her situation just a bit. A couple people have e-mailed me privately and I wanted to share one with you. It broke my heart. I have started it with her response in giving me permission to post her e-mail so I wanted to start out with exact interpretation.

You can share it.....the only thing is.... it was for such a few minutes and kids to tend to get away from us quickly when we least expect it. I don't want anyone to think she wasn't watching him; because that wasn't the situation. It could have been something as simple as she turned to put eggs on the plate and turned back and he was gone. I know; I've lost my own child in walmart before (he was 4 and it was just days before Christmas so the store was packed). It only takes 1 second and they can sneak away..

My over all impression of paige was that she carried a peaceful glow to her.

Have a great evening Ann.

HI Kris,
I so not know what his disability is. I think more emotional (slightly autistic??). May I share your story with others that are concerned about her? Let me know. I do appreciate it. It makes this whole thing even more tragic.

HI Ann:

The very unfortante thing about this situation is how the papers are trying to make it look.

I held her little boy for a few brief minutes the morning of our scavenger hunt. My son and i were at one table and I noticed her little boy almost in a panic.... he had lost his mom. You could see he was starting to get worried. He was so small that he got lost between the tables; I looked and I didn't see her but recognized him. Immediately I went to him and asked if he had lost his mom; I told him I knew his mom (which I could identify her from speaking with her the day before, but that was about it). I told him I'd keep him safe and we'd find her; he came right to me and let me pick him up. As soon as I stood up with him, she was walking through the door with the other kids. I think he just got away while they were in line for breakfast; her hands were full with the plates, which didn't leave any extra hands to hold the little one. It was only a few brief minutes that I was with him.... probably not even 5 or more; but I hadn't even noticed that he had disabilities. Of course, I use to work with 3-5 years olds in a preschool; so I thought he was pretty calm for the situation!

thank you for sending the article. Please keep me posted if you see more articles or hear anything more. I appreciate your time.

Kris

Goodnight all.

From what I've read, he has a kidney disorder that slows growth, etc...that is his main disability. He is probably weaker than his age... I'm sure he is taking this the worst - poor little guy.

I feel so horrible. I haven't been on here much in the last month and a half and now I return to hear about this. :(

Our thoughts and prayers will be with Paige and her family.

I can't even imagine what those kids are going through. I've got almost exact same ages (8, 6, & 4) and they are beside themselves that I'm flying to Chicago next week and won't be home with them. So I can't imagine what they'd be going through in situation like this.

I know my Margo (4) still wants LOTS of snuggle time with Mom (which I treasure, as I'm not sure how much longer that will be, lol)

Today while I was snuggling with her, I just held her and cried, as all I could think of was Paige and her children and how thankful I am to be able to snuggle with them and praying her children are ok with however it's being explained to them about Mommy being away.

Prayers for Paige and her family,

Lisa

My prayers go out to Paige's family especially her children. My cousin has been missing for 9 years so I totally understand what her family and friends are going through. Violence against women and children need to STOP.
