I have had a plan to call my past hosts/ good customers to follow up with the emails but have always forgotten to do it. Well this month I did it and this is what happened...I sent out the email for discontinued products and my normal newsletter that had this months guest special and next month's host and guests. I was expecting a few orders for the discontinued. Instead I got a $300 order for discontinued, a show booked for August so she can earn her discontinued for free, and about 7 people that wanted the pinch bowls so that got some orders. Here I am with a $700+ show with a booking earning my exect cookware for 1/2 price and getting my DCB free! All I did was email and follow up :) And to think I may have gone inactive with no orders or shows at the beginning of this month :)

Great job!! What a great reminder, too - thanks!

Don't ya just love those emails shows?

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Just Ask, and Then Remember to Follow Up" mean in direct sales?

"Just Ask, and Then Remember to Follow Up" emphasizes the importance of initiating conversations about your products or business opportunity and then maintaining communication with potential customers or recruits. It encourages direct sales representatives to be proactive in asking for orders or bookings and to not forget to follow up with those who showed interest.

Why is follow-up important in direct sales?

Follow-up is crucial in direct sales because it helps to build relationships and trust with potential customers. Many people may need time to consider their options, and a gentle reminder can keep your products or business opportunity top of mind. It also shows that you care about their needs and are willing to assist them in making a decision.

How often should I follow up with potential customers?

The frequency of follow-up can vary based on the individual and the context of your conversation. A good rule of thumb is to follow up within 24-48 hours after your initial interaction, then again a week later, and possibly a month later if you still haven't received a response. Always be respectful of their time and preferences.

What are some effective ways to follow up?

Effective follow-up methods include sending a personalized email, making a phone call, or using social media to check in. You can also send a thank-you note or a small gift if they made a purchase. The key is to keep the communication friendly and genuine, showing that you value their interest.

How can I make my follow-up more effective?

To make your follow-up more effective, tailor your message to the individual’s interests and previous conversations. Be specific about how your products can meet their needs, and ask open-ended questions to encourage dialogue. Additionally, providing valuable information or resources can help keep the conversation going.
