Is missing my first conference a sign from above?

In summary, the author is looking for ways to pay for their travel to a conference and has come up with some ideas, but is still hopeful. They also mention that there is a debate on whether the PC Visa is good or not, and that they are considering applying for the card. They also mention that they are looking for things to sell, and are considering Craig's List and eBay. They mention that they may be able to borrow money from family or friends, and that their paycheck on the 22nd may be decent. They mention that the deductible on their insurance may need to be paid NOW, but that their friend may be willing to give them a break and they can make payments.

Hi all,
Just needed to whine/cry to some that will really understand. Conference this year is my first and I earned it free!! Yeah me. But here is the sad - I don't think I am going to be able to go. I knew the cost was going to be a problem (hotel, flight, spending$, etc) but I worked really hard and made the $3000 sales in June. I planned to use my entire commission from this to pay for conference. Then on July 4 I had to go and wreck my friends car. It wasn't too bad, just rear-ended someone but now I have to pay the deductible on her insurance - $500 (almost all of my conference $). I know the Lord works in mysterious ways but I really thought he helped me make sales for conference! I don't see any way to cover the cost of flight, hotel and incidentals. I am not a big shopper but there is still the cost of food, cabs, etc.

Oh well, like I said I just need to whine a little. And if anyone has any bright ideas for the miracle let me know. I am in Wave 2 and was planning to be in Chicago 1 week from today!

Rummage Sale?Did you have your flight booked already?
Alternative travel? Train or Bus?

Have a garage sale!!!!

Charge it. Seriously. Conference will double your business and you will pay it off in no time.

I had planned to book my flight on Tuesday when we got out commission checks. I am looking at alternative transportation. Driving will cost more than flying, a bus will take me almost 2 days to get there and back (live in FL) and I don't think my job will give my any more time off. As for a rumage sale, I just moved 2 months ago and gave all my "junk" to the salvation army.

Charge it - don't have any plastic or credit lines. I learned a long time ago that I like to shop too much and so the best thing for me was a SMALL charge card. It wouldn't hold the cost of a ticket!

Thanks for the ideas!! I am still being hopeful, I have 6 days to find a miracle since I planned to be in Chicago next Sunday.

There is a debate on whether the PC Visa is good or not, it's your decision, but you could apply for the PC Visa, it may come in time and use that just for conference and for shows.

See "Looking for a driving buddy"!!

Can you borrow the money from a friend or relative till after conference?

Ugh, I hope that the Lord shows you what your next step needs to be!!

UGH! I started posting earlier and dinner was ready and now the post was gone. GRRRR!

Anyway, this is kind of what I wrote:

Do you have ANYTHING at all around the house you don't need? Old supplies, products new or used you don't want that you could sell? ANY old things around the house that you were wanting to maybe possibly sell at one time or another? Try Craig's List or EBAY for Non PC things and try here for PC stuff!
Do you know anyone that needs their house cleaned that would pay you for it? Babysitting? Mowing Lawns? Make a flyer and pass it around the neighborhood and local businesses offering your services. Can you borrow money from family or friends? Will your paycheck on the 22nd be decent? Can you pay them back when you get paid? Maybe a payday loan? Done that in the past and as long as you pay it off at payday the interest isn't that bad. Does the deductible HAVE to be paid NOW?
Will your friend give you a little break and you can make payments to her? Tell her your situation and see if she can help. Try some or all the ideas! I hope they work and you can go! PLEASE KEEP US POSTED!!!

Is there someone you can borrow the money from? Most people see a boost in their business when returning from conference. You could pay them back with the commission from one of your shows/month if they would agree.

I agree, and then have as many yard sales as you need to when you return to pay it off!! Or if you can maybe get a cash advance on one of your credit cards, I know they always sent me "those checks" for like 2.99% financing for six months or something like that.

Good Luck:balloon:

Just a side note most credit cards off balance transfers (where you can pay off another card or loan)at the low rate not Cash. They send out checks for both so please read carefully. The normal Cash APR is between 22 and 28%!

Just keep praying. Tell God that you want to go and that you felt like he had helped you get ready and now you don't know what to do. Yea, he already knows all that, but he likes for us to vent to him. Also, when we are close to the Lord and things are going good for us, the ole devil jumps in and stirs things up for us...his way of getting our mind of the Lord and trying to trick us into thinking the Lord has forgotten us.

Father, I pray that you would help us to determine the situation here. Show us what we need to do to get back on track. We know that you have the answer in this situation. We lay it at your feet and pray for your blessing and we will give you the glory and honor...Amen

National Conference was great, but Leadership is even better. It is smaller and more intimiate. Let go of NC and get yourself pumped for Leadership. Sign up 2 new consultants and you'll be there. Don't dwell on what you didn't get. God always has better things in store for us. Keep you faith.
