As I was searching the archives for grill recipes I came across this one
Take chunks of banana, cherries, pound cake and pineapple and alternate them on our skewers. Brush with melted butter. Grill for 2 minutes on each side. Scoop 1 scoop of ice cream into a bowl then slide 1/2 of the ingredients on the skewer onto the ice-cream. Top with chocolate, nuts, cool whip, etc.

Do you think this could be done in the grill basket?

yes.

i have seen a shortcake recipe that uses the grill basket as well. i got it from here....

Hi there! As a Pampered Chef consultant, I love finding new and creative ways to use our products. I think this recipe could definitely be adapted to use in our grill basket. Instead of using skewers, you could place the ingredients in the basket and then flip it over to cook on each side. Just be sure to brush the basket with some oil beforehand to prevent sticking. And don't forget to add your favorite toppings before serving - the possibilities are endless! Thanks for sharing this delicious summer BBQ recipe. Happy grilling!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Grill Basket Dessert?

A Grill Basket Dessert is a fun and creative way to prepare sweet treats on the grill, typically using skewers to hold various fruits, marshmallows, or other dessert ingredients. This method allows for a delicious caramelization of flavors while adding a smoky touch that enhances the overall taste.

What ingredients do I need for a skewer recipe?

For a delicious skewer recipe, you'll need a variety of fruits such as strawberries, pineapple, and peaches, as well as marshmallows, chocolate chips, or even pound cake cubes. You can also add spices like cinnamon or a drizzle of honey for extra flavor. The key is to mix and match ingredients based on your preferences!

How do I prepare the skewers for grilling?

To prepare the skewers, start by cutting your chosen fruits and other ingredients into bite-sized pieces. Then, thread them onto skewers, alternating between different ingredients for a colorful presentation. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.

What is the best way to grill the skewers?

Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the skewers in a grill basket to prevent them from falling through the grates. Grill the skewers for about 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the fruits are tender and slightly charred. Keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking!

Can I make Grill Basket Desserts ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the skewers ahead of time by assembling them and storing them in the refrigerator until you're ready to grill. Just be sure to keep them covered to prevent them from drying out. Grilling them fresh right before serving will ensure the best flavor and texture!
