Well there's slightly good news for me... the snow storms are now predicted for Monday NIGHT and I leave early AM, so things are looking up! There's still showers expected off and on but I'll keep checking the forecast, I hope to see you all there in nice, calm, SUNNY weather!!! I NEED this trip more than you know, I'm 21 weeks pregant and just spent the last week in the hospital with impassable kidney stones!!!! Two emergency surgeries later and I'm home and ready to get the heck out of dodge!

Thanks guys for your thoughts! Well the thing with my kidney stones is this, I have developed two major stones, one in each kidney. The one that is hurting me the most is on my left side and is 15mm wide at this moment (A normal kidney stone is between 1-4mm wide so mines huge!). Anyways, it's not humanly possible to pass this stone and it got lodged my my ureter blocking off my kidney, can we say OUCH! I thought I was dying. After 4 emergency room visits they FINALLY figured out what was wrong with me and did a surgery to put in a stent. I had a spinal tap and everything, the weirdest experience! Anyways, 12 hours later I was back in the ER with severe pain. They did another ultrasound and found out that the stent SLIPPED and was lodged in my ureter in the same spot the stone was! Less than 24 hours after my first surgery, I was in again and this time they knocked me out and I had my 2nd surgery to remove the stent.

It's a really long story but to make it a tiny bit shorter I'll just say, I'm fealing much better now that the stone has been knocked back into my kidney and that the stent is out of there! They wanted to put it back in on Monday and I so NO WAY, I'm going on this cruise and you can mess with my body when I get home! Being pregnant, the stones can not be removed until after I have the baby... so.... for another 20 weeks I'm hoping these stones stay put up in my kidneys and don't land back down stuck in the tube causing me all that pain. I'm brining all my medical records with me on the cruise, but I really don't feel like staying in a hospital in the Caribbean if you know what I mean!!! (Even though I'm sure there are worse places I could be!)

Thanks again for your thoughts, and yes I'm on the Sovereign... I need the relaxation SO bad right now!!!

Oh and I forgot to mention, the two surgeries together in less than 24 hours brought on contractions too... I was totally freaking out all weekend having contractions at 20 weeks. They were able to stop them and I've had some Braxton hicks since then, but other than that, baby is staying put... geez, now do you understand why I'm SO excited to get the heck out of here! Ha Ha

I can't wait to see ALL of you on the trip... everyone is going to have PERFECT flights, with PERFECT weather, and get there ON TIME! Positive thinking has got to do something! He He

Oh my gosh Darcy! I'm SO sorry!! We'll have to do some relaxing together on the ship! I hope the baby stays put and so do your kidney stones for 20 WEEKS!!

Oh and by the way, we left Maine at 6 am (well we we're schedule to) and when we got there US Airways so nicely informed us that our flight we're CANCELED due to maintenance! I was ever so politely told that I should have known better than to travel the day of a cruise and that there was nothing they could do to get me there on time. I called PChef and they said the same thing, that they couldn't get us on the ship until Wednesday night. I cried my eyes out. Well long story short, my mom took off on a mission and found a Delta flight that was running an hour and a half late due to trouble and there happened to be two seats left open on it, she bought us two tickets ($700 a piece!!! and yes I've contacted PChef and I think that they are re-imbursing her) and she got us on the flight with 10 minutes to spare!!!!!!!! We ran to get on, the closed the door behind us, and we made the plane. If it wasn't for that plane running late, it would have been too bad, so sad, nothing they could do! It was the most stressful traveling experience of my life! We caught the ship minutes before it left, but we caught it!!!!

Wow, I had no idea that happened!! I'm so glad you got there in time. It sounds like the trip(s) were the most relaxing time you've had over the past month!

Darcy, I'm so glad that you posted this! I remember you telling me about it on the ship but I've been thinking about you and wondered if you had gotten that $1400 reimbursed yet. Please let us know the outcome of it.
