Sandi suggests using a chocolate fountain as a reliable centerpiece. Two main activity ideas are proposed: a medium-effort approach involving themed tables based on wine regions, where guests collect signatures and birthplaces from attendees, and a less labor-intensive option featuring well-known church members at tables for guests to interact with. Both ideas aim to enhance socialization and engagement among guests.

I'm doing an Open House format kitchen shower for my church. Its going to be chocolate and wine. We are going to fold up the basic tables every church has and put them away and try to set it up more lounge-like, and we want people to socialize and move around. Any ideas for a mixer-type activity? It would be cool if we could involve chocolate somehow.

TIA,
Sandi

chocolate fountain works every time

How much work do you want to put in?Medium work:Theme each table with a winery or place wine is grown (Napa, Bordeaux, Champagne, Oregon, Washington, Italy, Germany, France, etc.) and give each guest a book of 4 different tickets to each area[table you have arranged for that theme]. They can pick whichever order they go to, but must get the printed name and birth town of 3 people they don't know before they can leave that table. You could maybe do varieties of grapes (Champagne, green, red, purple, black, seedless and theme the tables that way too) Less work:Have 5-7 well known people--priest,music team people, office staff, etc.-- at your church host a table, they just stay there and sign people's ticket books, the requirement of guests would be to have the signature and birthplace of the well-known person and 2 others they don't know
