Who May Find This Useful

Consultants looking for creative ways to engage guests during shows may find the shared experiences and game ideas beneficial.

I don't usually play games at my shows (I've done the ticket game a couple of times, but nobody seemed interested in asking questions!). My last show there were about 20 people. I split them up into 2 teams, and 5 people on each team worked together to make a trifle, and the other members played Queen of the Shoppers, with a correct answer allowing the trifle-making team mates to use a PC tool, rather than one found in the host's kitchen drawer. Everyone had a lot of fun, and those going through the catalog were so busy telling each other about their favorite products, they sometimes missed the next clue!! (the best part was that we go to eat 2 trifles! ;))

I'm thinking of borrowing my Director's or team member's 12" Skillet to make the Pina-Colada Upside Down Cake at shows, and while it's baking, playing games. I believe people are expecting games from home shows, so maybe this will help with my bookings (and getting potential hosts excited enough to actually HOLD the show!!). This thread is awesome, because now I have a few choices, instead of doing the same game at every show.

I am looking for new ways to make my shows more fun and different and interesting. Does anyone have any games or the like that they do to get the guests involved and laughing so it seems more like a party than a demonstration? I remember a consultant that presented a few shows at my house a few years ago and had all the guests get into 2 groups and then she would tell a story that had the words "Right" and "Left" in it and when she read those words whoever had the quikut paring knife had to pass it to the person on that side and whoever was left with the knife got to keep it as the door prize. Unfortunately she is no longer a consultant and I cannot get in touch with her. Does anyone have anything like that that they are willing to share? Thanks in advance for sharing!!

i have that game
