I packed all of my products last night and forgot to get my Apron out of the dryer....Is it a big deal or not? I am at work and have to leave straight from work to get to the show in time. Any ideas

Don't worry about it. I forget to put mine on too sometimes.

I don't use mine.... I know i'm bad:P I'm gonna use it at the fair i'm going to though;P

If you don't have it, you don't have it! It's no big deal. The PC police won't bust into your party and carry you away.

I like wearing mine. It feels like a little shield. As soon as I take it off I feel a little of my bravado slip away. Ahhhh...the comforts of the apron.

I know some cheffers have said they don't wear the apron at all... because it becomes a "shield". I'm honestly thinking about "tweeking" mine so that it is only a 1/2 apron - and then getting a pin with PC and my name on it. I really don't like wearing it, but have a tendency to wipe my hands quite a bit (so that I don't lick the food off them - not such a good thing to do at a show!) and need the apron (and towel tucked into the drawstring) on my at all times.

OK- now I'm picturing Jean Jonas, who's always so put together, breaking into a party and dragging off the consultant for not being in "proper uniform." And then Lisa Flynn popping in wearing the trivet dress to finish the demo. :D

Inside your head is a very interesting place, isn't it, Ann?

And now I have the same image, but Lisa MUST have the crown as well... otherwise it is just tacky!

LOL!!! Well I certainly wasn't going to say it!!!!

I NEVER wear my apron. I just put on my PC shirts and then I use pins.

I can't believe I forgot it. It is a shield for me. I am a messy cooker so I tend to wipe my hands alot on it. So maybe things will not be so messy or then again it could be a real mess. LOL

OMG - I don't know which post was funnier - Ann's vision of Jean & Lisa...or Katie's reply!!!!!

Tuck a couple of towels into your waistband to make a makeshift apron. Then you at least have something handy to wipe your hands on.

Great Idea Ann. Iknow i have my towels with me. I use them to wrap a few of the SA pieces. The show is at my cousins house so most of the guest there are family so it will be ok. I hope:)

How messy of a cook are you, and is anything you are making going to ruin your clothes if they get splashed with it, and do you care?

I often forget to put my apron ON, even though it is right there in front of me :p It has cost me a white shirt (they don't mix well with chocolate), but otherwise, it went fine. All your guests will be able to tell you who are ;)

I'm very messy too! I can also adapt my demo area to whatever space is available. If they give me a 2 foot table I work with that, but if they give me a 6 foot table I'm ALL over that as well! Oh well, people keep inviting me into their homes...I can't be all that bad!:p

So you do the show like Rachael Ray - NO APRON!!!!

My mother gets after me because the only time I cook with an apron is at shows. She always says, "I can't believe you young girls always cooking without an apron!" And she says it in the tone like I'm leaving the meat or main ingredient out of a recipe... Like how can you call it lasagna without the pasta? How can you cook without an apron? It cracks me up every time she says it!

LOL ! OH the horror !

I have not been wearing mine all summer - it is too hot for another layer to me. I have a PC t-shirt I have been wearing.

Katie, how do you make your apron into a half one? I would love to do that!

I never wear my apron at shows. I don't wear one when I cook at home, so why should I use one at a show?

Sometimes i feel that I am adjusting my apron all through the show. so maybe this is my test run to see if it is truly needed.

I just fold mine in half, and then wear it like that. (fold the top half down and behind the bottom half)

Then, I still have pockets (for my stone scraper that I pull out when I talk about stones) and still have the drawstring to hang my towel off of. I wipe my hands on my towel all of the time! I think if I didn't have it on, I would forget and wipe them on my pants!

You are making me think, though....my pastor's wife can sew very well...perhaps I should have her cut it down for me so it doesn't look so bulky!

Right now I still wear the apron the full length, but I am going to cut it down so I'm not folding it in half. And I'm going to try to cut out the PC logo on the top and sew on one of the pockets... so it still looks like a PC "uniform". Whenever I get it done, I'll post a picture/directions.

I wear the apron when I do my "walk through the catalog" parties. I keep the candies in the pockets. When I do other shows without the Have It! Love It! Game, I often don't wear it. I'm always in a PC shirt, so I feel like I'm in my PC uniform already.

You will be fine. As you can see a lot of us don't wear the apron.

I'm really big on ironing my clothes, and I've discoverd that the logo smears if the iron touches it! ACK! I've NEVER had a logo or silkscreening smear!

The logo on my t-shirt from Merrill did the same thing :grumpy:

My director is a little crafty and she takes a tool belt and somehow sews our seasonal kitchen towel to the tool belt and she uses that as her apron. It has pockets so that she can put stuff in it and she loves it cause she can just tie it around her hips and not have to wear that big apron. They are always so cute, but I am not that crafty myself.

I have said here, and other places, that I hate my apron. Hate it, Hate it, Hate it! Do you get the idea how I really feel about my apron!! So needless to say, I never wear it. I have a white 3/4 sleeve blouse that I got from the other merchandise company with the PC logo on the left side. I would like to find a nice looking t shirt that fits me, not too long, not too short sort of thing for the summer, but so far, no luck. But then again, summer is coming to an end, so I will keep looking for next year.

If I see Jean J stopping my my show to scold me, I will just tell her that it interfers with my hair. She will understand that!!

ROTFLMAO!

So, Carol, how do you really feel about the apron? :)I understand the shirt problem. I'm very short and short-waisted. T-shirts are always too long. I just take them to my local alterations shop and have them hem it to an appropriate length. Tada! Perfect shirt. I have most of my clothes altered. I generally spend $6 to $20. It's worth it to me to have clothes that fit me properly.

I never wear one unless I am at a fair and even then sometimes I don't
I know shame on me.
