Here is my situation, I have my PC biz but I also work for a county school system as a special ed teacher, and this summer, there is no summer school which I normally work 1/2 day during summer for july and august, there is a local job fair coming up, so do I try to get a job for the summer and still do PC, I like the flexibility of the summer, but I don't want to spend all summer at home, I also have a daughter to consider?? Any ideas..

I think this is one you are going to have to decide on your own. Only you know your financial situation. Would you be able to make it on your PC income for the summer? Also, consider if you are home with your daughter are you going to have to "entertain" her with day trips (added expense)? If you get a summer job, will it be flexible enough for you?

I think the best thing to do is figure it out financially first. Then, if you decide that you can depend on just your PC income, put together a list of pros and cons.

Good Luck!

Financially, I think we will be fine, PC is not my sole source of income, yes I would have to entertain her and if it's a reflection of this past spring break an occasional friend or two? My husband makes 3x as much even in the regular school year, maybe a part time job thanks I still have some thinkin to do

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I effectively manage my time between my Pampered Chef business and parenting during the summer?

To effectively manage your time, create a structured schedule that includes dedicated work hours for your Pampered Chef business while also setting aside quality time for your children. Consider involving your kids in your business activities, such as cooking demonstrations or product showcases, to make it a fun family affair. Prioritize tasks and set realistic goals to ensure you stay productive without overwhelming yourself.

What are some ways to incorporate my kids into my Pampered Chef business?

Incorporating your kids can be both fun and beneficial. You can have them help with simple tasks like setting up for cooking demonstrations, mixing ingredients, or even taste-testing recipes. This not only keeps them engaged but also teaches them valuable skills in the kitchen. Additionally, you can create family-friendly recipes that you can showcase during your Pampered Chef parties.

How can I find new customers during the summer when people are often busy with vacations?

During the summer, consider hosting outdoor cooking events or casual get-togethers that appeal to families. Utilize social media to promote summer-themed recipes and cooking tips, encouraging your audience to engage with your content. You can also offer special summer promotions or discounts to attract customers who are looking for easy meal solutions during the busy season.

What strategies can I use to stay motivated in my Pampered Chef business while managing parenting duties?

Staying motivated can be challenging, so set small, achievable goals for your business that align with your parenting schedule. Celebrate your successes, no matter how small, and seek support from fellow Pampered Chef consultants or parenting groups. Additionally, remind yourself of your 'why'—the reasons you started your business—and keep that at the forefront of your mind to maintain your enthusiasm.

How do I handle potential guilt about working while my kids are home for the summer?

It's important to recognize that working while parenting is a balancing act that many face. To alleviate guilt, communicate with your children about your work and its importance. Set clear boundaries for work time and family time, ensuring that when you're with your kids, you are fully present. Remember that modeling a strong work ethic can be a valuable lesson for them, showing that pursuing your passions is also a part of being a good parent.
