I'm not sure if this in the right place or not

What microwave do you have if you have one that fits the DCB?

I'm the market for a new one since mine doesn't right now.

It just needs to measure 13"W x 13" D x 7.5" H. on the inside. And it's best if it has a turntable.

I started a thread on this and got no real answers .... As a GENERAL RULE 1.1 CF is best. The one I have is 1000 watts and 1.1 cf. Generally, though, watts and cf are the same.Previous micro was old school, however, and was only 800 watts but big enough for the DCB. But the turntable did not turn. 700 or 800 are WAY too small and not sure about 900 ... it looked a little tiny to me in the store. I was tempted to take it in when the current one went on sale at Worst Buy.

take your DCB shopping with you. explain to the sales person that if it doesn't fit, you won't be buying it.I did that w/ my large bar pan when I was shopping for a new oven. I wanted to make sure that I could fit two next to each other with the pans running front to back. Surprisingly, only 2 make the cut!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DCB and how does it fit into my kitchen?

A DCB, or Deep Covered Baker, is a versatile cooking tool designed for microwave use. It allows you to prepare a variety of dishes quickly and efficiently while retaining moisture and flavor. The DCB fits seamlessly into most kitchens, especially those with limited oven space, making it an ideal choice for busy cooks.

How do I choose the right microwave for my DCB?

When selecting a microwave for your DCB, consider the size and wattage. The DCB typically requires a microwave with a minimum of 900 watts for optimal cooking performance. Additionally, ensure that your microwave has enough interior space to accommodate the DCB comfortably, allowing for proper heat circulation.

Can I use my DCB in any microwave?

While the DCB is designed for microwave use, it is essential to check your microwave's specifications. Most standard microwaves will work, but avoid using it in microwaves with a lower wattage than recommended or those with a smaller interior capacity, as this may affect cooking results.

What types of dishes can I prepare in a DCB?

The DCB is incredibly versatile and can be used to prepare a wide range of dishes, including casseroles, stews, breads, and even desserts. Its design allows for even cooking and moisture retention, making it perfect for both savory and sweet recipes.

How do I care for my DCB to ensure it lasts?

To maintain your DCB, avoid using metal utensils that can scratch the surface. Clean it with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. It is also dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to prolong its lifespan. Always follow the manufacturer's care instructions for best results.
