My computer hard drive crashed yesterday around 3pm & by 10:30 last night I had it back!! Dell is sending me a hard drive but if my computer keeps working then I'm not switching. I did go buy ANOTHER external hard drive & backed up my whole computer last night too. I lost my original one somewhere between my house & stores.

The fix to my crash was something to do with XP cd. The error code they got was that I had uncorrectable data errors or media write is protected. Plus it said hard drive failing. So, I'm very happy that I have my computer back & EVERYONE BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER!! Learn from my stressful afternoon & late night!

If your computer has crashed but is now operational, it's crucial to perform a backup right away. Use an external hard drive, cloud storage, or backup software to secure your files. Additionally, consider running diagnostic tools to check for underlying issues that may cause future crashes.

How often should I back up my data?

It's recommended to back up your data regularly, ideally on a daily or weekly basis, depending on how frequently you make changes to your files. For critical data, consider using automated backup solutions that run in the background to ensure your information is always up to date.
