Help!! I did a show a few years ago and the host made a chocolate punch. It was served in punch bowl and was like a real punch. Only instead of being all "light and fluffy" it was made with some coffee and she floated chocolate ice cream in it. Has anyone ever had anything like this? I am desperately trying to track this recipe down. (the host would never return my calls). Any help is apprecieated.

Thanks!!

How about this one:

12 servings 12 glasses
10 min 10 min prep
7 cups freshly brewed coffee
2 cups whipping cream
2 quarts chocolate ice cream
1/4 cup rum or 1 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
freshly grated nutmeg (optional) or grated sweet chocolate (optional)

Brew and chill coffee. (I have a 10-cup Mr. Coffee I just used one pot, I didn't measure out 7 Cups).
Whip the whipping cream until stiff.
Pour the chilled coffee in a punch bowl.
Add 1/2 the Ice Cream.
Mix until the Ice Cream is partly melted.
Add the Rum OR Almond extract, and salt.
Fold in the remainder of the ice cream and the whipped cream.
Serve in tall glasses and garnish with whipped cream sprinkled with nutmeg or chocolate.

That's actually pretty close, because a cup (small c) of coffee is 6 ounces. So your 10-cup pot brews 60 ounces. And 7 Cups (large c) of liquid is 56 ounces. :)

Okay... how about this one?

Chocolate Punch Recipe

2 cups of hot water
2 oz. of Instant Coffee
1 Cup of Sugar

In a Punch Bowl, dissolve the Coffee and Sugar in the Hot Water. Add the following ingredients about 30 minutes before serving:

1 Gallon of Milk
1/2 Gallon of Chocolate Ice Cream
1/2 Gallon of Vanilla Ice Cream

When ice cream melts to frothy milk shake consistency, it is ready to serve. Now how easy is that!!

MMMMMM.... I think I'll have to try that one. I would really like to try to find one with regular coffee.... I don't know.. maybe I just need to experiment. You know how it is, when you've had something and you want the same thing again - kinda frustrating. Well anyway, I'll keep checking to see what else is out there. Ruthie... thanks so much for your suggestions!!

Glad to help!
I am a coffee drinker and I really like the instant coffee from Aldi's for recipes like this one. I use this coffee for the iced coffee latte recipe found in Casual Cooking cookbook and it tastes great. You'd be surprised how many coffee recipes that you would think use regular coffee really used instant!

Personally, I HATE the taste of anything with coffee in it, so this recipe sounds like a good one for me!!

YUM! Chocolate!! Need I say more....? How about this to go with a "Chocolate Bliss" or "Death by Chocolate" theme show....???
